- Why didn't anyone tell me that making a Candy Store animatic would take 1000 years and a sacrifice
In all seriousness, this was definitely an interesting project! It pushed me a bit more out of my comfort zone and while I struggled with some scenes I'm pretty happy with how it turned out as a whole.

In the movie when JD finds that Veronica had “killed herself” Veronica instead had the rope tied around her waist to make it look like a suicide.
So was that on purpose? Like Veronica hanging here like that could symbolize Veronica faking her loyalty to the Heathers just like she lied about her killing herself to JD?

She does indeed do a good job of capturing the theatrics a musical number reall deserves.
Just a note:
You know how in this song, they say 'Prove you're not a loser', then 'Proven you're not a pussy' in the next verse and lastly, they say 'Prove you're not a lame-ass' This is because:
In the original set-up, they stand in this order: McNarama, Chandler, Duke. Heather McNarama isn't as bad as the other two, so they first say 'loser', which isn't a swear.
Then they say 'Pxssy', which is probably the worst, signifying Chandler, the worst and meanest.
Last, they say 'Lame-ass', which is not too bad, but some people consider is a swear. Duke is not too bad, but some people consider her really mean.

I appreciate that the Heathers all have unique socks, skirts, hair bands and styles of ponytail that match their personality and overall atmosphere they give off. Also it’s interesting that rather than the ambitious second in command Duke, the Heather with the second-biggest solo part in the song is McNamara (singing very cruel and manipulative lines about how Martha isn’t Veronica’s real friend and would jump at the chance to betray her, no less), who turns out to be timid, goodhearted and the most sympathetic member. Perhaps she’s projecting her own fears/suspicions/understanding that Chandler and Duke aren’t her real friends and would betray her easily onto Veronica and Martha’s genuine friendship, needing to get the blame and anger out but unable to admit it to her social superiors? After all, she does see popularity as a “lifeboat”. Even the relatively innocent and pure McNamara has to do some “pushing” and “shouting” like everyone else if she wants to keep her place in it.
When she says “are we gonna have a problem” idk why but I always go “yeah what u gonna do bout it MISS CHANDLER”
I would type up something meaningful and amazing, but instead have a word that basically says how perfect this video is.

I like it too but it doesn't really make sense because they kept making fun of Martha just because she was chubby.
i dont mean for this to sound preachy or that im trying to be rude it's just im a double major sociology/ psychology major and i just wanted to explain this not just to you but to everyone. it isnt the weight that is the problem, it's the fact that martha is unpopular and a part of the outgroup. because she is unpopular, her weight and her weirdness are just attributes apart of her that they choose to bully her for but that doesnt mean that they would necessarily bully every overweight person at the school. those who are popular and in the ingroup would protect those who are in the ingroup (unless there is an attempt of a power grab). if someone was to negatively go against a member of the ingroup, they would be reprimanded because it's power that is considered more important than secondary attributes (weight, race, sexuality, etc.). in an extreme way, you could consider how hitler had a "perfect" vision of the aryan race and he didnt even fit the physical characteristics he wanted in his "perfect" society. it's about who has power, the same reason to why veronica way able to become popular because she was given power and people started to praise her for things they formally bullied her for. it's nothing that is the problem except for her lack of power in the school's social pyramid
Gabby Sellers No, thanks, that was really interesting. I understand that but I still think that Heathers were meant to be the stereotype of 'superficial skinny/curvy bitches' and 'society standards'. I could definitely see Heather as a curvy person but not as chubby as Martha. And it is meant to suck! First thing they did with Veronica was closely observe if she fit their idea of "perfect", one of them is a bulimic that urged her to lose some weight (when she's already skinny!) and they all are obsessed with perfect looks/makeup/outfit (ridiculous pressure is put on them - see Lifeboat). They were representation of the society's ridiculous standards at that time (now it's a bit better but still) and showed how wrong could be what society perceived as """perfect""". And how they reject anything they see as different. They all look like each other. When one dies, another clone takes her place. See the poster for the musical. That's how he story went in my opinion. To show that these kinda things are after all just superficial, stupid and don't make any sense. So putting in a Heather that is different from the other too, while being a good message itself, defeats the message of the movie/musical in my opinion.

Two days after this video came out I watched it cause I remember seeing two song name of"Candy Store" and(I'm sorry)"dead rolling girl" I searched up this one first and clicked on it. This video was what got me into Heathers and all musicals in general and animations like these. You have been giving honour use it well.

I absolutely *love* this! Its so creative with the way everything transitions, and just generally how Veronica is being thrown around the entire time. It really gives off this intense vibe that she's being manipulated/dragged along and doesn't have control compared to the heathers. It really tells the story.. I just love it!!

I just wanna say that I love the use of color in this one! There's so much it's difficult to itemize, but I particularly noticed the giant lollipops - the first one had all four of their colors, but the one that wound up swallowing Veronica at the end only had the Heathers' colors.
Also, I appreciate how forceful and in-your-face the Heathers were with Veronica. It really works amazingly well with the song, and it's not really done on stage.
I also adore the way Heather C. basically flirts with Veronica - it puts a different dimension on Veronica's rapid ascension and acceptance among the Heathers, as well as Chandler's willingness to crush her for stepping out of line.
EDIT: I also just noticed Veronica going "dick?" right at the beginning, and that is just perfectly hilarious

I think McNamara shouldn’t have had any lines other than backing.
It would’ve made lifeboat much more impactful.
I think it makes sense for McNamara to have full lines and that solo part. She's the second in command. I feel like Duke shouldn't have had lines to herself, it would have emphasized why she felt the need to take control and how she was always pushed down by Chandler.
but also the fact that duke only has like 3 individual (kinda short) lines does help show why she went so power hungary
How are your animatics always so creative? Most people tend to just draw the movements of the characters, but you always do a unique perspective and story with your movements. It is SO impressive, seriously. Well done.
