    I got this keyboard a couple weeks ago. Love it so far. The keys take a bit to get used to because of the plastic feel but I'm used to it already. Great sound.

    @Cyberman86 you'll have to use the SW1 and SW2 for this... some of the sounds have the octave up and down already set up for these switches but if not you can always edit the function of the keys yourself. Refer to the manual for more info...

    @danielthecoolmachine I have played both versions of the M50 before I purchased it. Since the 61 and 73 key are the same feel I will tell you that the keys are not flimsy at all. They do not feel like they are gonna break. Most major keys on an electric keyboard feel this way. Granted they do feel allot smoother than some that I have played and are full size like a regular piano. But I purchased the 88 key since I wanted a real piano feel to it. Solid heavy weighted keys.

  • @nightbringersteve
    @nightbringersteve Před 12 lety

    yep u can create ur own arp pattern. U have 2 arpeggiators and u can trigger a switch pedal to turn them on/off or switch combis. You can copy the selected comby to the seq but you cant play in the combination mode with seq turned on.
    You can create your performance also and cue them up and put them together. so you can play our own sounds while the seq is backtracking but dont forget its a seq not a sampler (i would prefer and inbuilt sampler haha)

    In korg m50 u get plus: sequencer, better sound engine, more handy user interface, 73/88 keys, no modwheels ^^ (i hate modwheels), memory kard reader, chord triggers, better configuring for the realtime control pots
    in xd50: u get 2 (L/R) individual outputs, no 73 nor 88 keys edition (as far as i know),
    Also it depends on what u want to achieve. I have a korg m50 and also the x50. (ive started with the x50)

    I currently own a Roland Juno G and looking at swapping for the M50 as was impressed with the sound. I want something that is ideal for pick up and perform. Is it possible to create your own arpegiator riffs and switch between combis to add variation/fills to a song? Is it also possible to play in combi a and sequence mode at the same time - this is something that the Juno G does well i.e. I can create a 16 part performance and play some sounds with sequencer playing some of the sounds. Thanks.

    Like most professional workstation keyboards, the M50 does not feature on-board speakers. You can use the 1/4 inch line outs to connect the M50 to any keyboard amp, monitor speaker, or PA system. Please feel free to contact me with any other questions or concerns.

    All you have to do is connect the MIDI out of your 88 note keyboard to the MIDI in of the M50. You can then play programs or combinations from the 88 note keyboard. You could also assign MIDI channels and play a piano sound from the controller and a different sound from the M50 keys. Thanks for your interest. Please feel free to contact me with any other questions or concerns.

    I'm considering the Yamaha MOX or Korg M50-73. The problem is that I can't decide on which one would be best because I don't live near any music stores and can't try them out side-by-side.
    The MOX seems to have a lot of helpful performance / composition / recording features that might make it a better deal for my music, which is solo original one-man-rock-band so built in accompaniment and performances along with ease of use in making up a song are very useful to me. The M50?
    Thoughts?

  • @kraftmusic
    @kraftmusic  Před 12 lety

    The preferred connection method for an M50 would be using the USB port on the back of the instrument. This will allow you to send MIDI data between the M50 and your computer. Feel free to contact me with any other questions or concerns.

    There is no such thing like octave up/down buttons on M50. The buttons you are referring to are the switch 1 and 2 buttons. An sometimes one of them are basicly triggered for octave transponing.
    You can transpone the selected program (eg.: some kind of piano sound) in M50 or u can trigger some kind of transponation to the switch buttons.
    Or you can split your keyboard with the same program and transpone the splits differently and trigger the buttons for transponing back the keys to standard.
