But that's the thing, this isn't a song battle, he clearly named it a "diss" in the title; this is hip hop, if you're calling it a diss that means you're going to war, you're starting a hip hop battle. So don't make a cute bop, just rap, show your skills, bring your best bars. You feel? Also, please go listen to the instrumentals... Eminem makes the beat evolve as the song goes on, it's ominous. MGK keeps the exact same beat from beginning to end (and it's not that good imo). What people call "beat" and what people like are the choruses, and the fact that they don't like "rap" but melodic songs (to an extent)... But again, this isn't meant to be a bop. Last point (TLDR, I get it), Eminem wrote his diss and probably chose this beat because he is responding to MGK's diss. MGK kept saying "let's talk about it" so the whole structure of the diss is a discussion, well... more like a dad schooling his son. MGK got sonned.

Eminem is incredible with the pen and it's crazy how his skills are still sharp at such an age, whilst being able to bring out a banging non-promoted best-selling album in 2018, the times where mumble drug addicted rappers are seen as the shit basically. After listening to it a number of times, Kamikaze is starting to look to me as almost a classic album in terms of the huge mark it leaves in the history of hip hop culture. To me, there is literally 1 song out of the 11 on the album, for which I don't like the production and how it came out soundwise - it was Kamikaze. That hasn't happened since the times of pre-Encore Eminem, although in my opinion Relapse was dope as well, but it didn't have the same impact that Kamikaze may be achieving at the moment. I agree there is a bandwagon of Stans that only know Eminem and worship him as a literal god of rap, but for some years now there is also a big bandwagon of Eminem haters or anti-Stans, who constantly find excuses to say some shit about Eminem. I'm not against constructive criticism, but that's totally different to most of the negative posts and posters because these people allow emotions to cloud their judgement and see the truth.

This is as good as a mgk diss could have been, if Eminem went more personal and started referencing mgk’s previous albums then no one would have understood what he was talking about, whereas mgk could have made a personal diss track towards Eminem and everyone would understand the references because everyone is familiar with his career, anyone can name at least 5 Eminem albums, I can’t name 2 mgk songs.

I've seen several people saying the beat to Rap Devil is better than Killshot. I don't think so. Production-wise, Killshot has it in spades. Rap Devil was much more a contemporary / acquired-taste thing (overblown bass to the point where it's clipping/ bleeding over the sound spectrum)
