8 years is a big litmus test. That's a lot of history now, and history tends to repeat. With Dallas' lack of drafting and free agency success, I don't see them making the playoffs this year. If they do, it's as a wild-card team. That sets them up for another one and done. That might be okay for other franchises, but these are the storied Dallas Cowboys.
I'll tell you what though, they've become something of a laughingstock. Not quite so "storied" anymore.

Payton ate 85 million of dead cap to get rid of a qb he could win some games with, but that he didn’t think could help him win a Chip. I believe Jones will sign Dak and give him 60 mil per. IMO Jones should 1st see if there is a team Dak will accept a trade to and ship him out, if not let him and McCarthy walk and hire BB to handle all football operations, and go hang out on your boat except for game day. It’s interesting to see just how much fandom varies. Dak has won just as much as guys like Josh Allen. A few division titles and that’s it.
