This is a two player collaborative Let's Play of the home console version of Nicktoons: Battle for Volcano Island (known as Spongebob and Friends: Battle for Volcano Island in some countries), which came out in 2006 for the Playstation 2 and the Gamecube. This game is a crossover between the Nickelodeon shows Danny Phantom, Spongebob Squarepants, and The Fairly Odd Parents, (and technically The Adventures of Jimmy Neutron: Boy Genius, though he's only scene in cutscenes and not playable for whatever reason). There are very few differences between the two versions, with the GCN version having a slightly smoother framerate. In this walkthrough, we will be obtaining every single costume and completing every level fully, finishing the bonus levels, and obtaining all the Salvage Items, as well as finding various glitches and tricks in Nicktoons: Battle for Volcano Island.
In this episode of Let's Play Nicktoons: Battle for Volcano Island (Co-op), we go over the remaining content in the game, including the Concept Art at Squidward's Art Gallery, the enemy zoo, and even an unfinished storyboard cutscene left over from the beta version of the game! We also attempt to figure out the cheats menu, with "attempt" being the key word there.

6:18 SpongeBob's gun thingy on the boxer end in the concept art is used at the end of the game, in the final boss fight.

There exists concept art that shows something interesting. In it, you can see the cast of Nicktoons that appear in the game with some changes. Danny, SpongeBob, Patrick, Sandy, Squidward, and Timmy all appear. Sam and Tucker are missing, and in their place is Jimmy and Goddard from The Adventures of Jimmy Neutron, Boy Genius and Jenny Wakeman from My Life as a Teenage Robot.
Glad Jenny got her day in the next Nicktoons game.
I watched this LP when it came out and nostalgia hit me so I had to come back and rewatch it. Had as much fun as the previous time, love how you two managed to make such a broken game so entertaining to watch. Really miss the LPs and I'm hoping they'll come back soon, you two are incredibly funny.

I'm glad you enjoyed this project! LPs aren't exactly gone though, despite a few setbacks Tomodachi Life is still ongoing and will likely go on for quite a while (a minimum of 100 episodes are planned at the moment), and I currently have a project planned for late May, one for late June, and one fully recorded that will release in October. Despite that, LPs are no longer the main focus on the channel and likely never will be again, since I've shifted most of my time towards my GhotiBowl analysis series. Check it out if you haven't yet!

I know it's an old series but I just binge-watched your LP today and it was hilarious! A pitty the game was so bad that you couldn't have fun. I think the 3rd game is the best in the series, at least is the one that always got me like 'Wow that character is here!' or 'Wow is art from that other character!' There was always someone new to discover, even if it had a short appearence. I can't remember how good the gameplay was, so I'm worried that you won't enjoy it. But if you plan to check it out someday, I'm really looking forward to it.

I've heard Toybot's roster was excellent. I think Katie and I are both in agreement that we'd love to do the game one day, but I also just announced that we'll be dialing back on LP videos to focus on other projects in 2019. That said, it'll happen eventually, so I hope it's worth the wait!

New lets plays coming this year, Luigi's mansion 100% PAL, Scooby Doo-Unmasked, and Nicktoons Attack of the Toybots (possibly). and thats all for now that I have knowledge of.
+Luxor Firework As far as this year's plans go, all I can confirm is Luigi's Mansion, which should be up this week (hopefully Monday, I just gotta finish the intro) and the continuation of Xenoblade. There's another smaller main LP that is also set for premiere on Friday.
Outside of that though, I cannot confirm or deny specific series. I will let you know that Katie and I have planned out the next two games after these, and I'm currently working out some behind the scenes stuff both for a Scooby Doo game and a game featuring Spongebob as a playable character, but I won't confirm or deny those specific games. Both LPs are being planned with new co-commentators who have never appeared on my channel before.

I never played this game other than Nicktoons Unite and this seemed more polished then the previous. Because, while I loved Nicktoons unite, it was a mess.
I think this game has more charm than NU, but I think the polish is a bit weaker, as is the level design.

I'll probably have to look up how to submit cheat codes because I don't remember how to do that but I can tell you what the green crystals do! THEY DO NOTHING! But keep in mind it's been years since I played this game so this may not be correct, but I am almost certain that is the answer. But if it does unlock anything it's probably that statue of one of those things in fetish Forest that's right next to Tucker's movie theater, but I doubt that's the case. So most likely it's only for getting that medal. But I have a theory, maybe Jimmy was planned to be playable at one time and that's what his collectible would be! Or it could have just been a useless collectible

@@GhabulousGhoti I personally enjoyed this game, but it was very basic. I recently played Nicktoons: Unite and it was one of the most difficult games I've played (a 3+ game as well lol).
The silent parts with dialogue and then saying dialogue was weird for me.
I did enjoy both the soundtracks of both games, but one of the worst one is this track czcams.com/video/NLq2R22y3YM/video.html 1:27 is way too loud, but the rest is fine; the amount of times I've had to turn the TV down, when that comes on is ridiculous, especially the bosses lol.
I feel like Volcano Island here is cute for the Nicktoons fanservice but kind of sucks as a game itself, it just feels kinda lazy and uninspired. Nicktoons Unite can be quite hard, especially in single player, and it all comes down to bullshit IMO :P
I feel like the OG NU's soundtrack is super generic. Volcano Island's was a lot more tonally fitting, but still nothing special IMO.
@@GhabulousGhoti Just came back to this and I played Friends Unite. I got stuck at some parts, since was no explanation at times, plus a lot of trial and error.
The soundtrack can be nostalgic, but it's very basic, plus the boss music has a part, where it gets so loud, I have to turn it down (the game is too quiet or too loud sometimes).
Volcano was definitely better with the music and felt smoother, but was very short; 10% per mission lol.
Globs of Doom was better (had working cheats), but I enjoyed Volcano more, even though it feels like it ends quick.
I would agree that the controls in Volcano Island definitely improved on the first game, but the shallower combat left it less interesting IMO.
But how can we find the cheat code numbers any suggestions anyone.
Cheat code numbers are usually found either by being released by the devs (on a website, in a guide book, etc.) or from hacking the game.
The problem here isn't finding the numbers, but rather submitting them.

I really enjoy your nicktoons gameplay saga XD. You and Katie are a good duo, too bad the game was no available for 4 players so i could see the crew for United back. A bad decision for the game developers. Also the story of these game is so generic and with a lot of script holes. And Attack of toybots have a worst script. I hope you gain the determination to play it cause after your suffering with volcano island is totally understandable. XD Cheers :3
What baffles me is that for the majority of the game, there are 4 characters on screen, with the two AI characters just standing around doing absolutely nothing.
Glad you enjoyed the series so much! I do wish this game was 4 players just so I could get the old crew back, but I don't know that I even could have. This past winter, we attempted to do an LP again (which was quite a hassle to coordinate), and we ended up canning the project because we found the game didn't give us enough to work with and we weren't enjoying ourselves :(
Brooks has re-appeared as a player in both my Lights, Camera, Pants LP and my Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire LP. Emma briefly appeared in a few episodes of Fire Emblem Warriors (a side project, we never actually finished the game) and had a cameo in one episode of Madagascar. I'd love to get that exact group together again one day, but I doubt it'll happen any time soon.
As for Attack of the Toybots, I think Katie and I are both interested in covering that game one day, but I don't know when. I like to spread out games from the same series. There was about a year and a half in between Unite and Volcano Island (August 2016 to December 2017), and I expect there will be a similar span of time before we do Attack of the Toybots.

Neither will happen in the near future because I am no longer interested in making LP videos, instead focusing my time on video analysis essays. They're both a possibility for way down the road, but definitely not in 2020.
Ugh... Attack of the Toy Bots is probably one if not the worst game in the series and I’ve played every single one of them. I still get Vietnam flashbacks from just thinking about it. If you are going to play it just remember it will take a piece of your soul with it once it descends back into the hell that it once spawned from. As for the cheat codes for this game I believe the codes are suppose to be automatic or you have to click the x or start button to input them. But I don’t know for sure. If that doesn’t work it’s probably just busted. Whatever it is it’s not worth your time. And that you can be sure of.

As for the codes, we entered every code we found online, and none went automatically. I also hit X many times (it only clicked the number you were highlighting, it didn't submit the code) and I hit Start in between cuts when I hit every single button on both controllers. I really don't know what to make of this. As unfinished as the game was, I expected the menu to work at the very least.
The cheat codes for Volcano Island have always been a little bit weird. I don’t think that I even got a single one to work for me. So it’s either the codes are just wrong, which could be the case considering there is a GBA, PS2, GC, and DS version of the game, or there is a certain button combination that you have to hold such as holding the L and R buttons of the GameCube controller to enter the code. If they were going to add codes to the game they should of at least put a button command on the screen to enter the code. But if you have tried every single button so far then the codes are either wrong or the menu is just completely unfunctional.
SupercharizardEx I liked attack of the Toybots, sure it's got its flaws, but still great. I actually enjoyed it, and I'll enjoy it no matter what
Sorry dude, I don't typically like to bash on games. But, if you liked the game that's cool. I was just saying that in my opinion out of all of the Nicktoons series that Toybots was my least favorite.
