- Are you getting gear checked, can't beat a certain Colossus? Here's how to get stronger in The First Descendant and level up. This includes improving your reactor, enhancing your weapons, upgrading your modules, and more so you can increase your output in the game.
Don't be afraid to ask for help either, people in this game are super nice and willing to help you out if you're struggling
I asked and they helped me get through the ice bride boss but the devourer... yeah he SUCKS. I'm stuck. Hence why I'm here lol.
I’ll preface this with saying you shouldn’t have to do this, but after failing at the 4th void intercept multiple times I decided to post a message in world chat asking for help. Within 10 seconds I had two people join my party and go on to give the boss an absolute smackdown for me before bongo emoting and leaving. The community is ready to help you overcome those hurdles so you can save your valuable enhancement materials
Hum. I never see anyone chat on PC, but good to know that's an option. It wasn't super terrible vs the ape boss, but I did have to group like 10x before we got past him. And on the Pyro boss it was almost becoming a nightmare. I think that took closer to 20 tries to get past (a looootttt of people sticking with Bun not realizing how super low her hp and defenses are.)
It's Great that the Community is there to help if it's needed.
@hockeyslapper I wish all players would help like this. I've had it happen but not with pyromaniac normal. That thing is a beast
@@rabbittcartoon3658 Pyro normal is the first time I asked for help in world chat. Note that is not the regular chat. Open chat, press I think tab to change it to “world”.

Also leveling your shock punch/sword/claws gives you module capacity. I went with that as my first level 10 module.
This is huge, couple of my friends didnt know this
@brice9013 if you use the one to change the socket mod you can get and exta 5 for total of 15 from that slot

I wouldn't recommend getting attached to any equipment until you get to hard mode. Just because you cant level up the under leveled equipment other than weapons. What I did was loosely base a reactor on my element i.e bunny is electric damage. Unless you arent that great at shooter games I wouldn't waste your time until you get to end game content. Just enjoy it for now and level up!
For most things you don’t even need to try that hard to match stuff before level 100

100% - Massively different in Hard Mode once you start getting level 100 gear. Don’t waste your resources on lower stuff to bring it up, because they come with level 100 rolls instead of those level 20/30/40/50 etc level rolls you found the item at.
When you transmit levels, the rolls don’t increase and you have to reroll for the level 100 ranges.
For reactor enhancements, unless it's a gold reactor you only need basic ion accelerators and you make STACKS of x60 9f them for very cheap with all the mats you get from dismantling crap drops
@@golfer435 there’s no point to enhancing them at low levels though because none of the content is difficult enough to need an enhanced reactor and you’ll just over level the reactor after 2 missions anyway

Good video, you did a good job explaining these things to those who may not know about them! I noticed in mods, you don't have your sub attack mod maxxed, you should do that asap as it actually grants more mod capacity!
glad to figure out there's a inventory in this game ... lets just say i was using the starter weapon until the first void intercept when i had really good guns at the time
Im gonna disagree with just a little thing you said, Riffling Reinforcement or whatever its called, its a blue module that enhanced Firearm ATK... Its literally one of the best modules you can have on any gun, that thing leveled up its like 50 or 60% damage increase, Im not sure its something like that... But you just said to discard it because its a blue one and to focus on the purple ones which gives you maybe more bonuses but to a lesses degree like it can give you 20% more Firearm ATK and 24% Crit Chance for example... You just said right before saying to discard blue modules that a 50% increase in something was better than an lesser percent in many things!... So Im sorry I just had to call you out on that! Other than that, its good! Good tips!
action and reaction is the upgraded version of that module and I agree
@@KnowNoLimit001 The thing with Action/Reaction is it has a negative for a slightly higher positive. You have to be careful with some of the purples.

Not to mention that this game locks mod equipping capacity per type to one, and blue mods don't have a mod type. Thus you can put something like Action & Reaction and Rifling Reinforcement on the same gun and it will get even higher damage numbers
Quick tip on reactors, equip means it has to be one of you tree guns selected. mounted means it hast to me the one your actively using. too me way to long to figure that out in game

I disagree with upgrading the reactor. It will be obsolete when you get a higher level.
Yeah that's why no one does it cause you replace your reactor like every 15 minutes of playtime. But if you're stuck on something, then it makes sense to do the upgrade.
Exactly, I realized it was a waste of time to upgrade them until you get the max level from them or at least those that are close to it

I used to bash my head against the wall against pyro but now that I’ve got level 100 gear and have unlocked hard mode, he’s pretty manageable now. What’s really a pain is hanged man cause of the cube mechanic.
Exp is Shared. If you want to focus a decendant to level up, try to equip 1 weapon of max level. Leave the other 2 weapon slots empty

It's weird, I beat all the collosus in normal mode, the whole map with just the Magnus AA or whatever, have not figured out all the moding so well yet, I'm still trying to get the specific phase exchanger in weak grind modes...
If your bunny, what reactor should you have? Toxic? I thought her whole thing was Electric?
You need an Electric reactor with Bunny. It depends on the element of the Descendant you use.

!HARD! DEVOUR AND SWAMP WALKER When paired with a decent weapon Like Greg's reversed, fate with electrical. For devour, use your ult. When he's invulnerable on his little orbs Swamp walker is tough he does not take d o t without Venom injector from your three I don't know about the venom injector mod. Build all the health and damage you can with iron defence And with external components, try to get around twelve k hp And 25k hp And use walk a tightrope. And don't forget about duration. and expand magazine and fire rate on your reactor weapon

I'm stuck at the first hard mode boss. I've resorted a few times to asking the first descendant discord for carries. Lots of cool people in the discord that are happy to lepic melt a boss for you lol

Is that devourer? He was a pain. My suggestion would be to concentrate on improving you modules. And pray for a team that knows that they need to kill the green things as soon as possible that heal him. Stick at it. You’ll get there.

ALSO if u look at ur weapon and ur descendats SLOTS for the modules at the GRAY backround some have symbols that are the same for the MODS, EQUIP ESPECIALLY mods ur using into those slots it HALVS the cost of them. Freeing up slots for upgrades or another mod.
I'm stuck at hagios nearly finished tho. I just wait for people doing the same thing and if I get sick of it I just go farm some stuff for valby
Seems like once I hit lvl 40 on a descendant, trying to level up more became a slog.
40 is max level.

@@Davelever366 I think the point is, every time you level up you get an increase to all of your base stats. Once you hit 40 you stop leveling up so you stop getting base increases to stats. I have noticed that after 40 (after beating Devourer) my defense has been slacking quite a bit. I stacked into DEF and HP on my equipment but I think you need to start target-farming better equipment regularly post-40.
@@bored312 yeah for sure if he means increase power and not level up. My first sticking point is pyro. I can’t kill him fast enough solo and I just keep getting bad teammates if I matchmake and I spend most of my time reviving them.
I'm confused I seen people that have reactors with ridiculous high skill power and they are level 100 so how do I get my reactor that high..

Note though that some of those purples have negatives to counter the higher positive. Like Action / Reaction is a big one. You get more +Attack power than the blue version, but you are also getting penalized with -Recoil%.
There is also sometimes tricky wording. Like one of the ones I was using showed "+X% Skill Cooldown". I thought 'oh cool more cooldown means a faster cooldown.' But no, it's actually the opposite. It should read something like '+X% Skill Cooldown Time." Because if you look at the blue version, which blues are always ONLY a positive effect, it shows "-X% Skill Cooldown," implying that reduced cooldown is what you want.
- Recoil is something you would want. + recoil is the bad one.

Been stuck on the divine judgment mission forever. Can't even remember how many times I've farmed void shards and amorphous 14 just to end up with the wrong items after shaping. I enjoy a grind but this is getting ridiculous. I'm going to use what I have left and if I come up bust again I think I'll be finding something else to play.
If you can only upgrade a reactor twice, isn’t it best to just replace them more than not to keep from wasting gold and mats over the course of time?

I noticed something that's important with moding Descendants that you glossed over. Sub Mod spot should be maxed. That is literally the first mod that should be maxed out because whatever level it is, you get that back as free mod capacity.

I can honestly say that I'm one of the players that hasn't upgraded their reactor once since I've started. For some reason I feel like I'm going to waste materials upgrading something I'm going to swap out right after the next mission. Now that I'm past level 80 though I'll be doing it more often to get the edge.
When you get to hard mode, farming a good reactor will be easy.

This game is funny, starting from level 1 to 100, not really necessary to upgrade any levels / reactors/ skill mods. I waited to do everything and saved all my materials to Lv100 before playing the hard content and the real grind begins!
I disagree, the climb to level 100 can easily take someone 40-50 of gameplay. This is a video game, no need to blast through all that. I prefer to enjoy the grind and the climb, take my time, level up the gear I like along the way.

Reactors are a waste though as you can increase its level. So def only worth doing this before a boss battle. As once that done you will def get a new one

Helps rank up your mastery level, as you level proficiency it levels up your mastery level

Hoe does one unlock a New Character? Infact, what should you do as a Beginner? Just stick to story mode, or do mainly side quests to unlock new characters?
You have to run a lot of missions and hope for the drops that are listed in those missions for the descendants you’re trying to unlock. Sometimes a mission took me 15 times to get 1 piece
Yes prepare to grind I’ve played only 2 and a half weeks I think and have Sharen, Freyna, Bunny, Viessa, Lepic, and Blair. I’ve got Valby cooking and Enzo almost done(need code). Just put in the time and enjoy the game.

Blue module are strong, they are not shit, they are just more basic on some aspect and more comon, but they have their use and cant be neglicted and dismise as "trash" because they are comon.
Purple are rarer but got downside that sometime can be too heavy
Gold are ultra rare and pretty niche often so, rarirty doesnt make power

At lv100 I'm using a non power reaktor, that is stronger with poison mommy and has more skill power / tech as a 100 gold reaktor with 160% ..

And I think there are some differences depending on the second set of requirements. You could have toxic skill power and tech skill power. Or you could roll overall skill power and tech skill power and that yields different results depending on where the stat that they’re multiplying sits.
Oh haha. I'm super confused about ultimate reactors myself because purple have better skill power for abilities compared to ultimate

This is terrible advice. Saving weapons for the rolls is a bad move since there are breakpoints on weapons that raise the floor on stats and you will have to readjust contantly if you listen to this dude. People who don’t know how to play the game should not make guides

😂😂😂😂😂😂 this is clearly not a game for you. It’s a pve game and needs to stay that way. I love pvp in most games but in this it would become a balance nightmare with everything getting nerfed every 2 minutes. There are 15 characters which is a ton for a game like this on release, and if having to play as a female hurts your feelings then that’s a you problem. Go play something that’s your thing instead of dumping your purse out all over a you tube comments section.
All of that sounds terrible lmao. The playable characters in this game are great...a lot better than generic CaCs. And this game doesn't need PvP.
I recommend uninstalling the game. I did. Felt great after doing it. After trying to beat the pyromaniac 20 times and always failing I came to the realization this game SUCKS
