Hey girl hey! First off I love your channel Pauline. I wish you could be my locitician. Anyway, I am 10 months into my journey and cannot wait to color my gray roots. Iâm nervous because I have fine low density hair. I donât want bleach because I donât think my hair can take it. I would take the Carmel brown color that your sister didnât want. lol! Thank you for this informative video. Your videos are always on time. â€
Thank you for taking a deep dive on colored locs. I used henna to color my loose natural hair for years before I locâd my hair 2 years ago. I applied henna once about 2 months after I locâd my hair and it was the best application ever. But I worried about how much of the henna got embedded in my locs . I decided to stop using color even henna. It took about a year before the henna completely faded away. I now have lots of dimension in the color of my locs and different shades from silver to dark brown my original color. Iâm embracing the color variation and my locs are healthy. After watching this video I may not add color to my locs at all. If I ever do, itâs good to know thereâs leave in conditioner available. I have recently discovered hydrating shampoo after 2 years of only Dr. Bronnerâs Castile soap. I still use Dr. Bronner's first and then a hydrating shampoo in my routine. Your channel is part of my CZcams University
@bettyeames6812 Thank you for sharing your experience. I haven't heard or seen anyone who colored their locs with henna. I really want to safely cover my grays.
Omg sooo funny đ Great information thank you!
Hey đđŸ! Have you done a video on how to tell whether your locs are in need of a detox?
Hi Pauline, first of all i would like to thank you for all the vĂdeos you post, i learn a lot feom them, thank you for shearing your knowledges.
Second, i installed my daughter microlocs. We are now on second month now. So still on the shrinkage process đ đ đ . My question is, when will i know that her hair is mature already??
Hi Pauline....I am 7mths loc'd(Microlocs) and my ends are loose, but my roots are locked. I want to cover these disrespectful grays....is it OK to have a professional color, just my roots(black)?
Hi, thanks for the information. Do you ship to Europe.?
I'm two years sisterloc'd and I've been doing my research on coloring using Henna & Indigo. Any experience with these products?
I'll take that as a no
Please see my reply to this post. I used to use henna.
Thank you for making this video! I'm still trying to understand if you can go from jet black hair to a brown or blonde using a color and not bleach? I got my locs bleached a month ago and now when I moisturize my hair(spraying oil or rose water) you can see soo many strands outside of the loc and the strands look brittle and frizzy but it doesn't look like that when my hair is dry. Is that normal? People are saying I could've colored using a box dye with a developer instead of bleach but the loctician told me because my hair was so dark I needed bleach to lighten it.
Color doesnât lift color. Only bleach/lightener can lift previous hair color or if your hair is naturally dark, itâs will be extremely difficult to lighten it to blonde. Your hair sounds like it is still trying to adjust to being lightened/over processed and you need moisture and protein treatments.
developer operates very similarly to bleach, its has a reduced strength depending on the volume but it works the same
