    The #LincolnAviator made its return almost 2 years ago and when it arrived, it put a lot of bad stigma about #Lincoln to rest. After a nearly 20 year hiatus, the #Aviator is once again built on the RWD Ford Explorer architecture with a standard twin-turbo V6 or as a plug-in hybrid called the #AviatorGrandTouring. Even after 2 years on the market, it still represents the best American luxury SUV, but other brands from Korea and Japanese could soon catch up.

      This is laughable. Lincoln’s resale value is probably on the increase due to Ford having to buy back their own Aviators from customers since they’re plagued with quality control issues amongst other serious problems they’re experiencing. Ford’s quality shines through the pretty surfaces and the layout of the interior. Lincoln has become a formidable competitor but they’re far from Cadillac, Mercedes-Benz, BMW, and Audi in this regard. Build QUALITY is where Lincoln need to focus.
      “FoRd iS nOt pLaYiNg aRoUnD.”
      Seriously, y’all have got to be amongst the most unaware group of people to be praising Ford during this time. “Playing around” is an understatement. There are Lincoln Aviators that won’t safely stay in Park. Your comment is a joke.

      @@mybro727 I just got a loaner Cadillac XT4 that had 400 miles on it. The car had rattles in the dash and in two of the door panels and the passenger door handle had a awful creaking sound. My 2019 Taurus Limited which is on a very dated platform seemed to be put together better than a brand new 2021 Cadillac. Also if your comparing resale value of a Cadillac to a Lincoln, The resale value of Cadillac's is even worse.

I drove a 1997 Lexus LS 400 prior and just hated the front grill on the new ones and decided to get a MKC 2019, had that one for about 15 months and my husband being 6’2” just had a hard time getting in and out of it so we bit the bullet and upgraded to the Aviator. I brought my Cadillac CT5 into the dealership because... well... it's a Cadillac, and is luckily still under warranty. I guess a lot of Caddies were being fixed because the dealership ran out of loaner vehicles, and since they were part of the same Auto Mall, I was able to get my hands on one of these Lincoln Aviators. I must say, Lincoln did an incredible job. I thought everything inside was made with quality materials except the paddle shifters, but why even bother on a giant SUV. I got to keep it around for 4 days and even though I am not an SUV guy, I seriously wouldn't have mind the dealership keeping my CT5 for a couple more days.

  • @mudman6156
    @mudman6156 Před 2 lety +2

    Lincoln has improved drastically. They’ve taken a huge step forward, building vehicles that are far superior to the mediocre cars they were building just a few years ago. Everything Lincoln has put their new face on has proven to be far, FAR superior to the “Letter” badged cars they were building. It’s about time too, because it was beginning to look like the last great Lincoln’s we’re built in the 70’s and 80’s. But Lincoln has a new competitor that’s blowing every other brand out of the water. It’s called GENESIS. That’s Hyundai’s new luxury brand. And Genesis’s two SUV offerings are both a class or two ABOVE anything any other manufacturer builds, as they compare more favorably against the likes of Bentley’s SUV at less than half the price. The Genesis SUV’s don’t look like any other manufacturers’ offerings except the Bentley, but they were designed by the same person. And that’s a great thing too, because the new GENESIS brand SUV’s are both absolutely gorgeous, both inside and out. So when you go shopping for your next new SUV, you’d be an absolute fool if you don’t include the Genesis GV70 or GV80 on the top of your list. Those two SUV’s have set an entirely new standard that’s nearly impossible to beat unless you’re willing to spend more than twice the price for your next new SUV.
    The fully loaded top trim Genesis GV80 (Prestige trim level) is a couple of thousand dollars LESS than your Lincoln’s mid level (Reserve trim) in this video, yet it has far more features and frankly, is a far more luxurious vehicle for the money. Genesis has brought us a serious contender that frankly, has set an entirely new standard that’s others currently don’t meet. As nice as this Lincoln is, my next new vehicle, which will also be my first SUV, will be the new Genesis GV70 or GV80. They’re simply a step above. All the switch gear’s are made from aluminum. Touch points are all either metal, wood, or leather. Genesis left all those plastic touch points for their competitors to use.

      All else aside, I think the Aviator is a much more distinctive and elegant vehicle with a stronger road presence than the F Pace S, which blends in with the rest of the sporty SUV crowd, style wise.

    I'm liking it. What they did with the Aviator.
    If it can parallel park itself it should also be able to perpendicular bark. If you could have demonstrated that....
    And they kept the rear window not too far sloped forward which many companies do making their SUV's act like hatchbacks. But some companies ARE gjoing back to the boxy shape ...Jeep's 2021 Grand Cherokee L line...try to get your hands on one of them to review. Test the Park Assist.

    Well I have two comments. One is you already reviewed this same vehicle 8 months ago. No difference between either of these vehicles. Just surprised you review the exact same vehicle. My second comment actually has to do with how well built this vehicle really and honestly is...or should I say lack of quality. I know several of the new Aviator owners who say the vehicle is more in the shop than on the road. I know this to be true. In fact, a gentleman told me today he got rid of his 2020 Aviator because it was poorly built and constantly in for service. He traded in for a Lincoln Expedition. So as much as you review these vehicles, which everyone you do extremely well at, I must say that owner satisfaction falls well short for the 2020 model.

    I suspect the Genesis GV80 will spank the Aviator. But a more interesting comparison is the Aviator vs the Explorer. According to the "build and price" websites a moderately well optioned AWD Reserve trim Aviator has an MSRP between $64K and $65K while the top trim fully loaded Explorer (ST or Platinum trim) tops $60K. For that relatively small premium the Aviator is a far better value. A significantly more upscale interior on multiple counts, a superior tow rating (6700 vs 5600 lbs), a better dealer experience and a higher resale value. Of course, MSRPs often differ from real world transaction prices but even if the difference is closer to $8K or even $10K, the Aviator is arguably a superior value.

      Don't degrade one vehicle to praise another. The RX is a solid offering. The power is ample for most buyers. It uses luxurious materials, it's comfortable and quiet, and it's honestly pretty good looking I think. Extremely high resale value and reliability are nothing to scoff at. There's a reason why it's the best selling luxury vehicle.

    Does anyone know how long the massage lasts on the seats in the Aviator - or for that matter, any other vehicle? I've read some reviews that the massage lasts anywhere from 15 minutes to 30 minutes - but on a long trip that wouldn't work. And needing to keep turning it back on would be a waste. My massage chair here at home only allows me to have a 30 minute massage and then it goes back to an upright position and I need to start it all over again. I've asked the rep for Dr. Fuji Massage Chairs if it would be programmed to go longer - was told "No - it could burn out the motors". Would that be true for a car?
