- In this video we arrive on Marella Cruises newest ship, Marella Voyager in the port of St Raphael in the South of France and enjoy a tender ride to our excursion to St Tropez, Grimaud and the Port of Grimaud (yes they are different places lol!). It's also Gala night in the Main Dining Room and we have another night of new entertainment. Also the Hammock in our Junior Suite causes some panic!

My boyfriend Brad took me on my first river cruise in May from Vienna to Amsterdam and I fell in love with Europe immediately. I am 66. It as my first time to Europe. We're going again next month in September for Brad's Birthday, this time starting in Bucharest and ending in Budapest. Watching you is making me crave France and I want to see Ital too...and the UK...I just want to keep going...Retirement has been good to us. Happy Anniversary, what a wonderful trip to keep in your memories. I love the French music you play on the walk around Grimaud, what a delightful little town. You are very wise to eat off the main drag as the prices are miles high. Although sometimes I have been known to sit in a french cafe on a busy corner outside (more expensive again) just watching people, great fun. Thank you for a fun video.

We're on Voyager for two weeks in September and doing the same St Tropez trip that you did, looks fab and we enjoyed your vlog as always.
Looking at the background when you were in the mdr on 'Gala Night' it reminded me of the only other time we have done a Marella cruise and on 'Dress to Impress Night' to say we we both felt overdressed was an understatement, in a row of eleven tables for two I was the only one wearing a tuxedo, to be fair there was a few others but after that I didn't wear it again and won't be taking it with me this time. lol.
It is a great excursion! We don't pack the tux for Marella, just smart casual which is great as saves some weight in the case!
Love the music during your shots of Grimaud and thank you for teaching me about this place. I have never been to anywhere in France so this was a very nice introduction!

It can only be one????? It's either a 14 Caribbean Cruise on Marella Explorer 2 out of Montego Bay, Jamaica visiting Cuba and partial Panama Canal OR 14 day Alaska cruise on the Holland America's Koningsdam. Request your personal and professional opinion. We are both sitting on the fence with this one. Love your videos. Just as a footnote, we are Canadians and looking out our front window - we live at the head of a fjord, with mountains on each side, watching eagles, whales, dolphins, and ice bergs. Are we wasting our money going on an Alaskan cruise?
oh thats tough! As Canadians and used to the beautiful scenery and wildlife will you be impressed as much as we were not sure, as that seems to be the norm for you. If you like late night partying Koningsdam is very quiet after about 11pm. Have you been to the Caribbean on a cruise before? Marella Explorer 2 fun ship plenty of night life, great itinerary, with Cuba and Panama partial transit. With Cuba as someone from the UK if we have been there since 2021 we can't then easily get an ESTA for the US, so something we would have to think about. As a Canadian going to Cuba, then wanting to go back into the us does it affect you at all?
@@PaulandCaroleLovetoTravel As Canadians, we can travel from the USA to Cuba and return no problem. Additionally, Canadians can travel to Cuba freely from Canada. What is swaying us to Holland America is on your latest video on Marella where you attended a Gala night and eggs were on the menu. Perhaps it was an off night but it wouldn't bother us unless it happened quite often. I see the Cruising Canucks had a blast on Marella. We are torn between two lovers, Marella and Holland America. Who sang that song Pauly?

Looks like you had a wonderful anniversary celebration. That dining table tho....it would have driven me nuts with all the foot traffic, and carts and people walking by. I'd be constantly ducking elbows and found it very noisy. How would you compare Marella with Princess? By the way, I just love how your bed in the aft cabin looks out towards the balcony.
We did, yes it was a bit busy in the dining room. Marella are far more casual and ships do not have the wow factor like the Princess ships with the Piazza etc. Food and entertainment we would say are both really good. Princess tech with the ocean medallion when it works is excellent. Both great cruise lines and we would happily cruise with either!
Although I have never done an ocean cruise, I do enjoy your videos. I had a chuckle at the speeded-up tender sequence and landing. Were you a film editor for Buster Keaton ?😂
