  • A step-by-step demonstration of how to wire a complete 3-phase automatic changeover switch.
the video is divided into two parts. part1 and part2. • AUTOMATIC TRANSFER SWI...
The semi-automatic changeover switch switches the load automatically to the available supply, unlike the manual changeover where one needs to switch manually to the available supply,
Example: when the main supply is available, the changeover automatically connects the load to the main supply. when the main supply is OFF, as soon as you switch ON the stand-by power supply, the changeover switch automatically transfers the load to the stand-by supply.

Great work. So both lights can get on when both supplies are active?

Thank you, I learned so much. May I ask a question? In your diagram the aux coil is only connected to L1 of the main or standby source. What happens if for some reason one of the line connection is cut, say L2 of the main power. Will contactor A remains ON? Or will it trigger a failover to the standby contactor B? Any clarification is greatly appreciated.

Please I am not sure if I get your question correctly. The auxiliary contact are just contacts that open and close or vice versa when the contactor coil is energized. In the event that one phase is off, the system will work perfectly on the remaining two phases.

Nice job 👍 but Boss why didn’t you use timer switch for the Gen ?

Yes. I have a separate video on how to wire a timer to a contactor. I think Separating them makes it easier to understand. Please contact me through WhatsApp on +233242809918 for any more assistance. Thanks.
