This captures the essence of the "Midnight Madness" event at Pennsic, celebrated on Wednesday night of War Week each year. Harvali (from the Casa Tornad camp) put on a stunning performance to the delight of folks at Touch The Earth and the meandering crowd in the Merchant Aisles. For 50 years, Pennsic has been the gathering place for outstanding musicians, artisans and folks who want to immerse themselves for up to two full weeks in the culture that surrounded the Punic Wars (when Rome triumphed over Carthage) 2,000 years ago and subsequent European medieval history. More than 11,000 people attended Pennsic this year. It was a memorable experience, as always. The Society for Creative Anachronism (SCA) has more information!
