Most unexpected races were the Modded GTI vs Stock Supra & the Trackhawk vs GTR, I was pretty impress & mind-blown, sometimes never underestimate the power behind them, even if it's doesn't look like it but still blew the doors of them when the race happens
Modded Trackhawks are no joke. The weight transfer and awd hooking with almost 1000whp is brutal. It looks like they raced to the 1/4.
We have street drags by our county fair grounds and the only cars that can beat them from a dig are big tire cars on serious power or something else that’s crazy fast.

@@thespacedpirate you will find something, look on marketplace, maybe look for a truck that is clapped out but still has a good motor. A lot of people get rid of there vehicles for dirt cheap when they get a little mileage on them. or save up ⬆️ and get a crate motor. Easier sad than done of course but you already have the square body

Yeah I know it’s hard man, same boat as you with my camaro. Going to save for a crate engine though, might as well do it legit from the start… going to take a lot longer though, but the power gains will be easier and quicker! Same with the th350, might as well save for a stage 2 for about the same cost as a full rebuild. Funny how a project ends up becoming such a time and money sink…
9:56 to be fair if i remember correctly the stage 2 for the gti (at least here in germany) is pretty much on par with the clubsport (R) variant which would be about 320 hp at the wheels
320whp is decent but imagine getting beat by a stock supra with your tuned lightweight gti

@@skeletanger I agree. The supra mk5 makes 255 hp approximately and weighs at over 3000 lb (1360 kg) from the factory. The golf is a tiny bit heavier but it makes more power because it's tuned, seems kinda fishy right the fact that the supra was leaving the golf behind?

10:46 the gti being only stage 2, making probably roughly 287hp depending on if it's off the shelf tune or actually tune tuned, can be pushed to around 300hp, quick cars when done right, but takes a bigger turbo to really get them moving. So sadly enough, you're better off getting a golf R and modifying that, if you want a better golf. Still have love for them though even though they an egg lol.
thats what i was saying is it actually stage 2 with a ko4,intake, downpipe, full exhaust or “stage 2” with what has listed and that 287 number really depends on the engine if its the newer ea888 gen2-3 then he’d be easily making 325-350 or the older ea113 where that 287 would be correct and not to mention you cant shift a manual faster then an dsg can shift
Gti’s are better roll cars. 200 pounds lighter and with the same turbo as R it’s a good bit faster

@@matsottile7718 I have a 2011 A3 with the ea888.1 and I don't even need a K04 to run stage 2 tune, all you need for gen 1 is a full exhaust with highflow cat and an intake (recommend a better intercooler too), but stage 2 only puts me around 287-300hp. Stage 3 would for me would be K04 which based off what IE has on their website, about 387hp. I don't know much about the newer gens though on how much you can put down with little to do. And yes I have the dsg and it's tuned and I actually prefer it to a manual when doing pulls due to the quickness of the shifts.

Some gti are crazy modified especialy in eastern europe, even the diesel engines like some crazy people get over 500hp from basically 2.0L Turbo diesel

@@che3601 I'm think you can loose up to 20% through diffs,transfer box, props being a AWD. But the difference in the weight is what made it a close race.

I say this as a GTI owner. IS38 on full E85 to even hope for a shot. Or Hybrid to actually stand a chance.

@@hasan_440i I drive an IS38 GTI on E85. It's quick, but it isn't fast. Don't get me wrong. I love it. But it's not hybrid IS38 levels of fast.
IS38 on E85 is barely putting 400whp.

But something like a Vortex Std & Vortex XL, or TPC20 & TPC38, or any of the other many IS20/IS38 hybrids. Easily 500whp.
I think you're conflating the performance of hybrids with the OEM counterpart they're built off of.
Which is why in my original comment. An OEM IS38 on E85 (380-410whp depending on tuner) would be needed to hang and MAYBE bully a stock 3.0 A90 in a GTI. But if you want a for sure win. You need hybrid with full fueling & sensors with ethanol.

Running just an alternator on the belt!

I seen a lot of stock busa beat a lot of fast vehicles but to me the gearing was very short causes to me he was semi beside him my opinion longer gears he would be at his door beside him
you are thinking too much on the 950 vs 1000 at that level that could be dyno margin of error, but the track hawk for sure makes more torque, torque is the only real unit of measurement, HP is just a calculation based on torque, also tires make a huge difference

I have a 2006 Chevy 2500 truck that looks completely stock aside from the 5 inch exhaust but most diesel trucks around here have large exhaust but my truck runs high 12s which is an insane feeling in a 6000+lb vehicle I need to get wider wheels because I end up loosing a bit due to traction issues. It will be faster once I do the transmission then I can push another 130hp to my higher tune and get a new turbo put in because I can push max boost of 35psi right now on the stock turbo.
Had a Scatty and got walked by an old lady in a Genesis. Sold the car 2 weeks later
Trackhawks are no joke you get them around 900 to 1200 horsepower to the wheels and they get real rowdy they have a really nice gearing setup

there are twin screw postive displacment wipples kits for the brz 86 and frs and they sound way better then the turbo sound and you can run low boost and still make 240 to the wheels on stock block in rares cases some got lucky with 300 wheel with the superchargers and the thing fly
