It annoys me that the assassinations sneak attacks are usually body shots and not stabbed in neck lol. Just seems like a really basic detail to have in an assassin game.
i was about to complain about that even unity knows to stab them in the neck

Yeah, I think syndicate was the last great one. Origins was ok, but after that the combat and the animations degraded imo.

I like that they're taking it back to its roots in a lot of ways. But man they need to spend another year polishing this game. It has so many animation and jank issues.

For me the animations were always very important and the best part of the AC games, the animations here don’t look high quality enough, particularly the assassinations, the Parcours animations are also weak :(

Usually AC game engine and mechanism is change in every 3 game, but this? This is how we can describe Ubisoft nowaday. AC Mirage is typically game that highlight parkour, but the parkour is not fun and satisfying enough to be see 😂
Yeah it dosent look fluid enough, the charcter accelerates and halts unnaturally, looks weird.
But it's better than Valhalla atleast.

It really drives me crazy to see AC games where the sword on the belt sticks through the clothes. Kinda like a shabby glitch throughout most 3rd person games and every time I see it, it takes the immersion out for me

Come on now, out of all things you can complain about you chose this? Literally take any game that comes in mind and you'll find that it has the same problem. For example Elden ring, it's my favorite game of all time, and it has swords that clips through your clothes.

Why does this look like a game from ten years ago? The animation quality is sub par (literally the same animations from the past 5 AC games). The graphics have very marginal improvements from the previous games.
Because it is a Ubisoft game. Also try to appeal to the fans' nostalgia. (AC1, ACRevelations, AC Origins)

@@Unknown_Genius yeah, that's what Ubisoft does. Makes marketable games with a cool theme and potential and just pastes over the same old formula again. One of the laziest developers, but then again, there is EA and the NHL and FIFA. Ubisoft games are definitely purchased from a 80% sale. nobody is going to pay full price from them. For some weird reason, I still enjoy them, except I found Odyssey and Valhalla to be boring, Syndicate too, and Unity has technical issues. In a way, Black Flag was the last game that somehow felt like it achieved what it tried to do. Although Origins was cool, something did not feel right

It gives me actual anxiety when someone plays stealth games without checking around the corners and just speeds through the map
That's how I do stealth Tbh, I'm not a strategic person, running in and winging stealth works way better for me.
I like brutal quick stealth, I do enjoy slow stealth but as I’ve grown older my patience runs thin with little time to play so I tend to go as fast as possible while maintaining stealth

I love these old settings. I don’t really play AC games but I just love historic locations. That’s why I love BF1 and BFV. Older times is fun in games for me and I appreciate when they choose ancient times for settings in video games. Obviously AC that’s their thing. But when others do it to it’s cool.
Yeah that's why I don't hate a single ac game.Although none of them is top tier, All are fun to roam around, all are damn Beautiful. More historical games are needed(Not strategy one)

@@jackfrags Baghdad at that time was the capital of the Abbasid Caliphate, and it was a scientific powerhouse. Algebra among other things were invented there.
I hate 'AC' Odyssey but I will be lying if I said I didn't love the Greek setting. Same with Origins, Valhalla and now Mirage.

Ever since they added health bars and the whole damage over time battle system with points each hit in origins, I haven’t bought another Assassins creed. I played the first one and the 3rd one and they were so freaking good. Now it’s clearly just a copy and paste money machine. They don’t care anymore, I would say typical Ubisoft but that’s most companies nowadays. Very sad to see such a good story taken down this path.
Seriously! Assassin's 1 all the way till 4 were amazing and unique titles but now it's just one after the other and they all suck now 😢
Valhalla was very good. Thoroughly enjoyed that game.

it is a decent game, tho (which means an average game for a triple A developer with 10+ years of experience with the franchise). just a very bad Assassin's Creed game.
IMO AC died with Assassin's Creed III
@@ioritenshiBlack Flag, Unity, Syndicate, all still great experiences which include the whole Assassin experience. Hell, i'd say Unity does it best, with all of it's problems. Origins is the one that killed the franchise.

Combat is not what I expected. Parkour is literally the same as Valhalla 😭
Eh the parkour is noticeably different, more animations wayyy faster pace and it’s much smoother, not to mention Baghdad is a much better environment for parkour then anywhere in Valhalla

It's funny cause Mirage looks almost identical to origins. It literally looks like the same game. I was kind of hoping for a completely fresh assassins creed. But I guess not.
Every game post Origins will run on the same engine and have the same RPG style. AC Mirage, Hexe and Red and the next infinity title will all be rpg games with this gameplay. AC is ruined. We can't expect a major overhaul to gameplay and engine until maybe 2030+....

I feel fairly confident in saying that this gameplay isn't being played by Jack... it's too cinematic, as if the player already knows what they're about to do. Long camera movements to showcase the scenery, no checking around corners for enemies, and the lack of emotion on close calls makes me believe that this gameplay was recorded beforehand by someone who intended to showcase the game and then dubbed by Jackfrags only afterwards

I enjoyed the last few AC games but the game mechanics feel dated now. Id love some more skill based fighting similar to Jedi Fallen Order along with smarter AI. I loved how in Metal Gear Solid 5 soldiers would spawn with helmets if you shot them too much in the head along with more body armor. Little stuff like that makes a huge difference in how you play. This game looks like it plays the same as the others with a graphics facelift.
Am i the only one that feels like this gameplay is not origionally jacks? Its all just too smooth and perfect. It feels like he knows exactly where to go all the time and just the way het looks around and does everything just perfectly

Idk...the graphics are obv. cooler and better but those new AC games can´t compete with AC2, 3 and Black Flag when it comes to stealth kills and overall fighting. Those titels had it all and it felt so badass

This is the first AC I am interested in since the first 2....but I kinda wish the assassinations were better. I still remember the methodic approach in the OG and the little talks you'd have when you killed someone. I hope I can run this game.

Can we choose to do either a low profile or a high profile assasinations? Looks stupid to hide the target behind of the crate if there's no one else.
Also i'm not gonna kill sitting guards, because the killing animation looks incredibly stupid. I either will walk past them or just use a throwing knife.

Imagine if this had a similar combat system to The Last Of Us 2, where you can really get into the fight and kind of "feel the impact" of the combat and interact more with the enviorment, push people against a wall and then smash their head into a desk. Now that would be awsome, Sadly Ubisoft just can't get out of the year 2010 with its combat and animations.

Last of Us 2 really spoiled me, the gameplay and animations are unmatched.
Unfair that you're comparing these two games, they have two very different systems. When you kill someone in TLoU you're put into a mini cutscene essentially where you're locked. Very difrrent from AC.
But what does it matter? Not all games have TLoU combat and its fine, the only game I can think of that has that is GoW (2018) and Ragnarok.

The gameplay looks really rough. the graphics look really rough. I think for this game, they are in the same bucket. I think the textures, animations, etc don't hold a candle to any modern games. I think bringing back the old style without making anything better, and letting it be as unpolished as it looks is really bad. I don't think graphics save this in any way.
True, plus the graphics looks amazing. They're probably watching it on their phone with a crappy internet connection or something, because I really don't see their complaints.

@@aidanbaxter130 that's the biggest bs I've heard, graphics don't fkn matter, the only thing that matters to a video game is the Gameplay, gaming is about games, keyword is game.
You can go back in time and play Arkham Asylum or demons souls or elder scrolls Oblivion and they're still great games, even though they don't have good graphics. And recently games like Armored core and elden ring or baldurs gate 3 or starfield, they don't have the best graphics ever but they're all fantastic games. Games have to be good first, and graphics is lower down on the list.
A game like forspoken has great graphics, but the game itself is awful, so did people care about forspoken having good graphics? No, they don't.
Dark souls is a great game, but graphics are bad, does anybody care that it has bad graphics? No. And dark souls is a massively immersive game and it dosent have good graphics.
So the argument that good graphics means immersive isn't a great argument.
