    2) Malaysia Day on 16 Sept was the date when Sabah & Sarawak joined Peninsular Malaysia to become the Malaysia now. Independence day is 31 Aug.

When I'm in Malaysia, I never try to convert the currency. So if it's RM12 then to me it's $12. That way I appreciate the value of money as the locals. Ohh yeah the bus ride experience can be a good one if the driver or any passenger can speak English otherwise it can turn into a nightmare because you don't know when the bus will stop for rest since they don't have location with signs so better prepare well if you plan to travel outside the big city. As for Malaysian people I totally agree with you. They're super friendly. One time I got freak out because two young men came to talk to me and asked me alot of questions. This was the first time in my life that a total stranger was so friendly and I thought they were trying to trick me as I waited for the bus from TBS to Sungai Petani. The downside for me about Malaysia is the weather. I was sweating the whole time during my stay and I really admire at all Muslim sisters to dress modesty even though it's hot outside

Rm10 for a Ramli Burger..is still cheaper than burgers at Mc Donalds..or any Chain food outlets.
Lately, i'm shocked at food prices too. It's the inflation business-owners are taking advantage of. Take for example my dog groomer...she had already increased grooming cost early this year..and last month she told me she MAY increase it again. I told her she's not going to see her customers coming more often if she does that. I told her i would buy a dog clipper and do it myself. I told her she's destroying her own business by being greedy bcos there are many things people could do without..one of them is grooming a dog.

Then I went on holiday to other countries (Australia, China, Korea, Vietnam, Thailand, and Singapore) and each time I'd get homesick within just a few days. The food, the price, the facility, the weather, the people... being in some countries with people who don't smile back at me (+ the fact that I'm a hijabi and I've got cold treatment sometimes) really makes me appreciate Malaysia, my home country a lot more. I remember being in charged of foreign students back in university, one Japanese student on his 3rd day in the country told me that he got creeped out when strangers smiled at him whenever they made eye contact, and I had to assure him that he was not a target of robbery or kidnap by 20 people he met at the airport 😂

You forget to mention the King of All Fruits...our Malaysian Musang King Durian....the British came in the 19th Century, they'd tried it and dont want to go home after that...they'd stayed for over 200 years....we have to coax them to go back and see their mother back home.....really....

    Just some TMI
Independence Day (31st August) is the day when the Malayan Peninsular or West Malaysia first gained independence from the British government in 1957.
Malaysia Day (16th September) marks the states of East Malaysia (Sabah and Sarawak) and Singapore joined the Malayan Peninsula in 1963 to officially form a country named Malaysia. But Singapore left 2 years later.
Glad to see you enjoy your stay in Malaysia 🇲🇾❤️

Singapore didn't leave. They were voted out of Malaysia in parliament in 1965 - esp. due to the racial riots in 1964.

Thanks bro for your genuinely positive credit to Malaysia 🇲🇾 I am proud Malaysian. Your comments are spot on & your visit to Malaysia on recent event for our Independent Day are in fact is your lucky day. Don't worry about language barrier especially in most downtown area, English is like a second language even in some family make it a first language other than their own language for their own races. The downside of course, I do believe most of Malaysian hate our rulers, they're are all greedy for money & power. Corrupt conceited leaders can be seen everywhere. Some of us can only rely to have faith in some Kings from certain states only. Daulat Tuanku 🇲🇾 I love my selected King from 3 states only. They are purely smart, loves the country, speak out for truth, don't make friend with kleptocrats, loyal to their family & wife but nevertheless they don't really have actual power to rectify these mf kleptocrats.. Who knows maybe we Malaysian will be suffering in the future, in the hands of our covetous politicians & ministers 😒

I think potential visitors would want to know how safe Malaysia is in terms of thefts, intimidation, encounters with drunken people, aggressiveness, walking at night or in deserted places. TBH, it's much safer now than before after more CCTVs are being installed at every nook and corner. There's also a strict arms regulation in Malaysia so you'd never hear a gun being fired. As for accidents or crime which are related to alcohol influence, sadly it's rising, despite the price of alcohol has been increased and sin tax applied.

Accident under influence of alcohol has never been a major cause of accident. It is the Malay-Islam politicians want to get attention and score a point by blaming on non-muslims minority.
The news below published in freemalaysiatoday will never be seen in any Malay daily.
PETALING JAYA: Only 69 cases of driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs on Malaysian roads were attributed to fatal crashes between 2011 and July 2021, according to a police statistical report.
It is said to be the lowest cause of death from the thousands of fatal road accidents over the 10-year period.
