Who the fck is Kylie, back in the 80s, she wasn’t even known, heard of, just simply Dannii’s sister while Dannii is YTT Favourite and Famous nationally during those times (1982 to 1988). Tina Arena and Dannii M. started Young Talent Time when they were 8yrs old, they were closed like sisters. Even Dannii’s Wedding to Julian in 1994 was like a “Royal Wedding” of Australia.
Kylie took advantage of her ‘Famed from Neighbours 1986’ to jumpstart and hit it off with her Music career in 1988 which is the same year that Dannii has to leave YTT at age 16 (YTT policy) to start/launch a new Music Career. Kylie knows too damn well that if she didn’t make that moves, she would be forever in Dannii’s shadow in the Music World. After YTT, Dannii’s music career took a backseat, she got into Acting instead n did some Fashion Design as well, then she came back n decided to do Dance Music as she couldn’t do Pop and compete with her sister (Dannii loved PopMusic as she’s been doing it all her junior life since 1979). She had great successes with DanceMusic as well as Broadway Musical Stage Shows, also TV personality and currently famous popular TV Talent Shows’ Judge…

Leave it alone Dannii? This song is from a special anniversary record of Tina's where she invited a whole bunch of Aussie singers to reimagine her songs. Dannii didn't somehow claw her way onto this song - as a long time friend of Tina's she was invited and personally I think its a great take on a fantastic song.
When you try to make perfect song better, then this is what you get.

It almost seems as if Dannii was trying to pare down the original to something more understated the way she did with 'Xanadu.' I liked that cover; but with "Sorrento Moon," I feel that the treatment detracts from the melody and emotional quality of the song itself. However, it's cool to see Tina and Dannii working together.

Well Danni was asked to cover this song solo for Tina’s GH album. Later they came up with the idea to make it a duet. That’s why it is Danni ft. Tina. It sounded more like a Danni then Tina track. Good new version. Although I am a Danni fan, the original is better. Other artists reworkee other tracks aswell… Some male singer made a country version of one of Tina’s song. Tina asked fellow singers to rework one of her song into their own style
Nothing wrong with changing up the melody on a old song. Gives it new attention. Club sounds, remixes. People do that all the time.
