  • On March 18, I performed at the Aerialympics competition that was brought locally to The Grandel. In my devision against four others, I placed first. This was my first time performing in a competition. I enjoyed this experience so much and hope to be able to do it again next year.

    I wish I could be like you! You're so amazing!! I don't see anything wrong with this performance. You 100% deserved first place. It was beyond gorgeous. That takes a lot of practice. When I do silks, I always try to get better. I've been doing silks for about 5 months now. I hope I can be as awesome as you someday even though I'm not that flexible. You did amazing.

    When you just fell to get into coffin hang, does it hurt your ankles? Or ankle hang, whatever you like to call it. I want to try to just drop, but I'm afraid it'll actually murder my ankles. Does it give you silk burn or hurt? I really wanna try it :)))

      @@dddrakers The first few times hurt quite a lot (I did my first star drop on my 6th day of circus training) but you get used to the feeling, and double/triple stars DEFINITELY hurt less than single stars, which cause a really sharp pinching pain.

  • @ValerieWoodMusic

    Why are so many aerialists so klunky going up the silks? I understand this is an incredibly difficult sport, but it should also be considered a dance first and foremost....EVERY MOVEMENT SHOULD BE CONSIDERED FOR GRACE. Seriously. I know this is harsh, but this is what separates the amateurs from professionals. Oh, wait...she's really young...sorry I said anything...I'm a jerk- she'll get there....

    • @kamce3203
      @kamce3203  Před 5 lety +11

      Valerie Wood I’m beyond confused, I’m sorry you think my performance is “so klunky”. But I want to know, if you think you shouldn’t have said anything why did you post it anyways? If you don’t like my performance, please don’t watch it and move on with your life unless you had some actual feedback on how I can actually fix it and not have you complain about it. Please and thank you

    • @ValerieWoodMusic
      @ValerieWoodMusic Před 5 lety +4

      That’s fair. You’re strong and obviously work hard. Here are some dance tips, and sorry if I hurt your feelings: 1) go up the silks about 50% as slowly as you do now: to slow down your movement, slow down your breathing. Tighten your core, remember people want to look at you, don’t rush, every second is an experience. Dance in front of a mirror as often as possible to understand clearly how you move 2) hold your poses about three times as long- you’ve made the effort to get into the pose- take a moment to enjoy it and let the audience really take it in 3) video record yourself often and review often- be honest with yourself about your strengths and your challenges- and watch lots of professional aerialists- get inspired from a lot of different people and study different forms of dance. Knowing how to move your arms in a flamenco or belly dance style would go a long way- do things no one else has done, even if it’s just stylistically.....These are my observations based on this video. It is my opinion that if you combine your strength with dance technique, you will very soon be an artist.

      @abbymyers4351 Před 4 lety +5

      Well, the judges obviously disagree with you, you know since she was amazing 🤩and got first place and all, so I don’t think anything qualifies you to call her performance “ klunky”

    • @elisa.alexander
      @elisa.alexander Před 3 lety +2

      Yeah there was absolutely nothing clunky about the way she climbed the silk. The speed with which she did it was impressive because it made the motion seem fluid, not rushed at all. If there was anything in this performance that seemed less than perfect it was at the end, when the silk got caught on her foot for a second, and then the bow could have been held a bit longer because she deserved the applause, but it’s understandable because she was probably exhausted after that! Definitely disregard that stupid comment, this performance was incredible.

    • @annelieseb7521
      @annelieseb7521 Před 3 lety +1

      @@ValerieWoodMusic dude! Shut up! Nothing about this is clunky, and do you even do aerial silks? The speed at which she is going is what matches the song.This is a professional aerialist, and keep you’re stupid opinions to yourself!!! If you don’t mind why don’t you give me a time stamp of where it’s “clunky.” Thanks for being an idiot.
