Probably got mad because usually he is the one making other vehicles (cars) go back up, and now he found himself forced to back up by a "farmer peasant", and not some highly respected international articulated truck driver.
I bet he bullied his way out of that road on every car he crossed on his path.

You either like it, or you don't. I did it for years and it wasn't on account of being a big earner. I do tend to acknowledge the drivers when they pull over tho not the ones that don't bother pulling into passing places, even with 30 or 40 cars behind them. Then they get the finger cos they give 'tractoristas' a bad name. Cromer, eh? I'm in Norwich now, after living in Oz for 14 years. George, you have been there haven't you, if in fact you're not an Aussie. Nice vid, been wondering what the Fastracs are like.

Recently, I saw a van give a reversing lorry a good 30 metres of space. No point in pulling up to his bumper - no time saved, the lorry might hit you in his blind corner and if he needs to pull up again, you're both stuck. Thought by myself, such forward-thinking people have become rare. But it gets better the further you get out in the country :)

An interesting ride along on the narrow twisty roads of the U.K. That irate trucker missed a few spots to pull over. We have it easy here with mostly wide and straight roads. G'day George Saunders I drive cattle in my truck places and because the cattle can move around you have to be very careful on round abouts and no sudden braking so to avoid this anywhere where its other than reasonable straitish road with good visability you have to go slow and people get really pissed off about it. I wonder when they go out for dinner and order a steak if they think how it got from the farm to the table.

What makes me laugh, not so many years ago, getting stuck behind a tractor was a real drag, as they were extremely slow, where as most of the new tractors now have road gears, so can pick up some good speed. I loved working on the farm when I was younger, so always make way for tractors and to the annoyance of others let them out, especially when the roads busy.

I know its not the case here, and the truck could get out of the way, but a year or two back our 44 tonne artic with fully loaded 45' tri-axle trailer pulled onto a verge for a tractor with trailer load of bales - and sank in until the front axle was on the ground. The tractor had driven past a spot where they could have passed easily without stopping, then refused to back up. (it was a drawbar trailer!) We had to take two big tractors to pull the Stralis out. After that I told the driver to let the tractor do the avoiding. Also, its very frustrating to be driving a 540hp 16 speed fully automatic truck behind a tractor and have to slow down every time you come to a hill that the truck wouldn't notice was there.
Just a comment - not a whinge. I can see both sides of the argument having driven trucks and tractors all my life. John.

Another cold tractor film. This cold tractor was going quite surprisingly fast and couldn't understand why so many cars were keen to overtake it

  • @Keepingitrespectfulmostly.

Pity those who drive tractors and similar vehicles cannot have an agreement with all local field owners to use their fields to get places instead of roads. copyright@pawxpaw2020 ? :0) Lovely rural scenery.. Where me tavern wench and milkmaid?

Thanks! When I saw Cromer I thought it meant in Norfolk, but there's a Cromer on the way to Buntingford. I think that would be a looong journey on your vehicle.

Great video! But that lorry driver had about 7 chances to pull into somewhere before he did and besides vehicle with biggest wheels has right of way!

I thought tractors were prohibited on roads unless within a mile of their home farm? Mind you, at the price of red diesel, I suppose its cheaper then using the car.

+Dennysmock why would you think that??? that makes it completely useless on a farm vehicle...

In other countries they have tunnels through mountains, but in England they have tunnels through trees. Wouldnt it have been alot easier to drive whithout the trees, bushes and hedges besides/in the road?

Why call them 'lorries', why not 'Debbie', or 'Linda'? I actually run across farm equipment when I'm driving my semi here in the US at times. I just give them plenty of room, usually hanging back with flashers on so they don't feel crowded. I thinks farmers are amazing people. Not easy work, by any means. Cheerio chaps. Back to my Scimitar kit, (Airfix of course:)

Lol - that lorry driver was only driving a 7.5 tonner - hardly an Aussie Roadtrain! If he can't reverse that without getting in a tizzy, he shouldn't be driving it.
