Chase, the other producers, cast and crew, loved both Steve and the character of Tony B. So much so, they tried every way they could to justify another season. But, one of the things that separated ‘The Sopranos’ from all the other shows, is that they did not give in to focus groups or popularity contests. He entertained us in ways I can't even begin to tell you, and he put us all at risk. Irregardless, it has been made clear to me that if HBO puts their hands on him, he will not be dealt with quick.
