    Michael Braungart is the founder of Epea Internationale Umweltforschung GmbH in Hamburg, co-founder of McDonough Braungart Design Chemistry (MBDC) in Charlottesville (USA), as well as the founder of the Hamburg Umweltinstitut e.V. (HUI). These institutions share a common canon of values, that includes intelligent, aesthetic and eco-effective design - for products and production processes, which are developed in a closed circuit and are not only not harmful to humans and nature, but useful. He currently has a teaching position at the Rotterdam School of Management of the Erasmus University of Rotterdam and as a professor at the Leuphana University in Lüneburg, Germany, the University of Twente in Enschede, as well as at the TU Delft. In addition, he holds a honorary professorship "TUM distinguished affiliated Professor” of the Technical University of Munich and the honorary doctorate of the Hasselt University Belgium.
