  • The Pedego Boomerang is possibly the lowest low-step mass market electric bicycle ever created! The standover height is just 8" (20.3cm) off the ground, making it extremely easy to mount and stabilize. Available in two frame sizes with 24" or 26" wheels respectively, five beautiful colors that span the fork, rear rack, and chain cover, and two battery pack sizes (480wh or 720wh). Premium Schwalbe puncture resistant balloon tires with reflective sidewall stripes pair nicely with the Satori suspension seatpost and integrated front and rear lights to keep you comfortable and safe. Powerful 180mm hydraulic disc brakes with large four finger levers make stopping easy, both brake levers have motor inhibitors built-in for added control. Upgraded 7-speed drivetrain with wide 12 to 32 tooth cassette provides easier starts and climbing as well as comfortable cadence at speed. The SRAM X-4 derailleur is two steps up from the base and tends to be very reliable, but the trigger shifters are a bit small. Upgraded LCD display is large and easy to reach while holding the left grip, it even has a built-in USB port to charge electronic accessories as you ride. Optional matching fenders, side mirrors, and trunk bags add utility. Vast network of dealers for test rides and post-purchase support, industry leading five year limited warranty. Upgrade path to Platinum Boomerang with air suspension fork, nicer suspension seat post, and higher capacity batteries. Trade-offs include rear heavy design, limited suspension, no slap guard, and center mount kickstand that can cause pedal lock.

Pedego Boomerang is not merely for people who need a very low step over. My husband and I prefer a lower step over than the traditional triangular or cruiser style frame requires. While I chose the City Commuter for several reasons, my husband discovered that the length of his feet made the V-shape in that model's frame too narrow to provide any step over benefit. The "length" of the step through opening on the Boomerang suited him very well. The frame does have a bit of flex, but he did not find it noticeable. By the way, over two years after purchase, we are very happy with brand and model choices.

Nice to see you giving something other than a Bosch system a favorable review, the Bosch system doesn't suit everyone and does have its own drawbacks for some people with weak legs as its definitely biassed towards torque, and a simple cadence system can have benefits for some of us not able to put in that power so are more heavily reliant on a cadence type handing you the power.

I love my Pedego Boomerang. Ive had it for 2 years. We have had good service with them. My biggest problem with them is that, if the battery drains down or the motor malfunctions, the bikes are very hard to pedal without help from the motor.

I My wife as a I have the Boomerang and we love it. The price was worth every dime! We've had ours for 5 years now and they run as good as brand new! We both are slightly over the 250lb recommended limit but they run excellent! Made many 20 mile runs with plenty of battery left. We LOVE our Pedego Boomerang bikes!

I ordered a boomerang platinum in person at my local pedego store. The employee said I should be fine at 260-265lbs (my current weight) even though their website seems to suggest 250lbs is the weight capacity for riders. They gave me a V1 element as a loaner until my boomerang platinum which is quite older and it seems to handle my weight just fine. Can't wait to receive my boomerang platinum!

OK Court, time to 'fess up - who do you think really walks their bike backwards without putting up the kickstand? I know "pedal lock" has been one of your pet peeves for years, but I have a hard time trying to figure out why anyone would walk their bike backwards without first putting up the stand.

Funny looking design, purposely built for those that can't lift their feet very high. However, that battery location is a problem. It's way to far to the rear. It should have been located vertically, between the rear tire and the seat post, or the front downtube. I had an ebike with a rear battery like that and immediately took it back and exchanged it for an ebike with front mounted battery. Seems expensive for what you get, comparing to the Aventon Level ST.

Perhaps unpopular opinion but I wouldn't agree with the "for people with less mobility" argument tho, maybe an e-bike is not a good idea if are coping with less mobility? Maybe a tricycle or other ride is more appropriate then? And I think the one they had in Spain didn't have a throttle? [to my knowledge it's not called bike if it has. (in E.U.)]
Must be some gold-plated service to defend the price.
