- We are in Malaysia's food heaven, Penang. So we had to try the famous Nasi Kandar Hameediyah and it did not disappoint! We might have over-ordered a bit, but we were just so hungry after waiting in the queue for over an hour. We might never want to go home with all this delicious food!

Hey, I'm from Penang & living in Ipoh... There's a difference between Nasi Kandar Penang & Ipoh. Ipoh is not Nasi Kandar but Nasi Ganja (marijuana 🤣🤣) or Nasi Vanggey
Ahhh....Penang Nasi Kandar. Mouth watering. Its funny that nasi kandar outside of Penang are so much different.
..Because only in Penang nasi kandar and spice shop were open side by side. Every spice shop have had keep the secret of authentic combination of spice ingredients belong to certain nasi kandar in Penang. While outside Penang nasi Kandar is using packet curry powder bought from supermarket.

I'm from Sabah (East Malaysia) and I actually ate nasi kandar for the first time while stopping at a Shell oil station near Tapah, Perak on 21 October 2019! It felt bitter at first bite but I actually enjoyed it nevertheless!

Do you know that there is a Hameediyah branch in Penang Island, located in south east side of the island and it's almost no queue. Food taste as nice as the main outlet.

rachel is soo astute as usual, u queue when u know at the end ur rewarded with yummy-licious food !! n i was impressed with rachel's ordering, tho next time u must order some meat curry, beef or chicken or mutton, my fav is fish curry, but when ordering under great pressure, i guess u just stick to the basics !! i'm surprised rachel wants to come back... so i must check out this resto when i'm next in penang !! n bro ur sotong n lamb shank looks fantastic !!

Logesh and Rachel....one lane called Love Lane....thats all I'm saying...just at the entrance is Nasi Kandar called Bathusa...extremely under rated as its Indian/Mamak boys kindda home cooked food for locals??...KL folks go to the famous ones...Bathusah( spelling maybe a suspicious thing) but it's just at the entrance to Love Lane

Nasi Kandar Hameediyah in Penang is very famous and a lot of Malaysians peoples out there want to find and try it
Penangites know which time to go without queuing. All this people queuing usually from outstation.
Ayam kapitan and daging rendang is my choice since the 70's
Harga ayam kapitan seketul pun dah RM9.. daging rendang pula dah RM4 seketul....
There is no place in Malaysia can challenge the pure & original flavour of nasi kandar & the curry from Penang..

I used to go to them during childhood, they have 2nd floor and it was made by wood, i love eating overthere, nowadays it become famous because during covid alot of food review stuck in malaysia review it i think, also the murtabak is cook with Ghee!! expensive ghee and they sell around rm6 hella steal

The food in Hameediah Restaurant is good especially the murtabak. Even on weekdays the queue is long. I was there last month and at 4pm the queue was long 😀.
i think u forget the "Hameediyah sambal nyok"...klu kena sambal nyok dia mix up dgn rice n kari gravy aaa...kompom hilang mata hitam...hahaha

Me n my husband tried their foods recently and the taste is ok nothing wow about it but the price is madness!!! There are other nasi kandar restaurants that are better taste and the price are more reasonable!! Will not have a second time!!!
Hameediah Penang is definitely the std bearer for good mamak food but before the days of Instagram, we never ever had to Q for their food
