- In this episode of Legends of War we take you to the Battle of Stamford Bridge between King Harold Godwinson who was crowned upon the will of King Edward of England and the King of Norway Harald Hardrada who had a claim to the throne. Berserkers, the fiercest warriors of Vikings had fought against thousands of cavalries, with their 2-metre-long axes. But Harold Godwinson, King of England, made history by repelling a Viking invasion.

Great job, a very atmospheric recreation. This is a tale I never thought I'd hear recounted in Turkish, but the powerful Turkish language narration adds to the drama (at first, I thought it might be old English or old Norse!). Thanks very much.

The saxon army caught the vikings literally at rest. They were not expecting king Harold to march at such a speed to meet them. As for the lone viking who held the bridge single handedly killing forty saxons, his name may not be remembered but his deeds that day certainly will be. Anyway this was such a brill documentary a big 'English cheers'.🌹
