2.5 mm is Enough for 1.5 ton Ac. Actually input watt is approx 1500 to 2000 for 1.5 ton Ac. So 2.5 mm is enough.

Yes, 3.5 Kw is the cooling output. The actual power required is depended on the star rating of the Ac. If it is 5 start then input power is less.

Please Read Once:
First you have to understand the difference between cooling capacity and input power. Cooling capacity 5400 watts means you are removing 5400 joule of heat per second from inside of the room to the outside atmosphere. On the other hand input power 1500 watt means the it takes 1500 watt power to run per hour. Ideally 220 V * 6.82 A = 1500 W. There is no relation between input power and cooling capacity while considering the proper wire. In ideal situation 2.5mm copper wire can conduct up to 20A current with 4400 W load considering 220 V input voltage. but if the voltage decreases the current will increase . 1.5 Ton ACs require maximum 2000 W input power. So it will carry 2000 W / 220 V = 9.1 A current in ideal case and work on even 100 V power supply also. If anyone has stable power supply with above 150 V then 2.5 mm wire will be more than enough (2000 W/150 V = 13.33 A which is much less than 20 A)

Wrong calculation. Yeh bhai cooling capacity rating leh rahe hai. Power rating 1 ton ka 900 - 1000 watt leta hai. Fir v starting load thoda jyada hota hai.
Galat information cooling capacity power mein hamesha likha rahta hai, har ac par jo Amp likha hota hai uske according wire lagana hota hai, Meri 1.5 ton inverter ac hai jis par 7.4 Amp full load par current flow darj hai jo 10 saal se 1.5 mm copper wire se chala raha hun, kya bharam faila rakha hai
