Brother, I first picked up a dhol when I was 16 (27 now) and didn't have much guidance right off the bat. You are blessed! Learn as much as you can. In no time, I will be asking you for lessons 🙏
thanks for uploading the another video of a tutorial. can you please make a video on ,how to tune dhol. how can we make perfect sound for tilli side and dagga side? thanks
Awesome job, guys! Really well taught and explained! I'm curious as to what makes this the "most commonly played" :) I'm not arguing, I'm just interested in your perspective(s).
I have watched the first video and within 2 weeks I've learnt all of the chaal variations at a good speed, i wanted to ask of you could put up some tutorials on how to play them with some songs, either English or Punjabi, thanks you for the tutorials 😊😊😊😊
Hey Manvir, thank you so much for the hard work you are doing for the community, it's really amazing and great work. I am following your videos and have learned a lot. Just s quick question, why gurpreet's , dugga side is so dark? Is it the masala? Can you advise how much masala to apply, it's seems like gurpreet's one is loaded heavily. But sounds amazing. Also I always have trouble tuning the tilli side so it would be great if you could make a video on tuning the dhol. Thanks mate...
Thanks Snehdeep! I believe that's just the colour of the skin itself. With regards to tuning the tilli side, I get this request a lot but I'm not good at it myself so I don't want to put out a video where I share incorrect info. This year, I'll try to collaborate with someone that is skilled in tuning and hopefully share that video
Hi Manvir, just a quick question. What were the bols that Gurpreet was playing at the beginning of the video, excluding the toreh. (Was this Chaal variation 3 from your previous video?) Thank you, Nikesh
What are the bols at the beginning when Gurpreet is playing solo? I have heard that beat being played plenty before just can't seem to mimick it right without the bols
Hey Maria, it's going to be a good while before I can get to that ...possibly by next summer. Not to worry though, there will be a lot of other content in between :)
Hi I have a question for Gurpreet Pannu, I live in the VA area close to DC. Do you happen to teach Dhol, like one on one? If so How can I get in contact with you so that I can get few lessons? thank you Rajiv
