Decided to try something new! I wanted to experiment with lineless + sketchy painting style and I really like what came out of it! The color pallete is taken from "Your city gave me asthma" album cover because it's such a good pallete as well as album, I really love it. This is definitely more feeling-driven than perfectionist-driven so it's pretty simplistic at times, but I just wanted to capture the mood of the song and not focus on the little details. Just a fun little project to let some feelings out.
Characters in order of appearance: Rain, Nymira, random DragonKeepers, Celthric, Rivatha
Lore summary: Let's say that the series doesn't have a typical happy ending "and they lived happily ever after". Not entirely. Rain gets locked in prison after it's outed that he killed his apprentice. A year later his girlfriend breaks him out and he has to hide at a black market place for a year to avoid king's guards looking for him. After some time he is assumed dead and he can finally stop hiding. His girlfriend stays with him and helps him heal, his former mentor forgives him. But he can never come back to the Order of DragonKeepers, as everyone there knows what he did. Just like in the theme of the album ("your city gave me asthma, that's why I'm fucking leaving"), he kind of hates the Order because of all the traumatic events that happened to him when he was there, but at the same time he doesn't want to leave a place that he called home for the last four years. He needs to learn to leave it forever, buried with the past and start a new chapter in his life, even if it's painful.
