In legends it was rumored they had droids in the quadrillions due to how cheap they were and how many factories they had across the galaxy. It especially helps that they were most designed by insectoid aliens who were either hive species, or close enough that coordination made it easy to mass produce armies, vehicles, and weapons.

When I watched your video on the colicoid's, I was surprised that the colicoid's were so willing to compromise with the trade federation to sell them more Droidekas in exchange for rare meats.

He'd never seen it or knew of it before, since it's appearance in the Star Wars: The Clone Wars game from the early 2000's is kind of obscure and not as popular as many later games. I received the Clone Wars for the Xbox earlier this year, really brought back memories of all the hours I spent playing and replaying Clone Wars on the PS2.
Looking back, I love how a lot of the pre-ROTS Clone Wars media, like the PS2 game or the Republic comics, often had unique droids and vehicles like the Protodeka. It really made the Separatists feel like a diverse, Galaxy-spanning movement compared to the massive uniformity of the Grand Army of the Republic, whose only personalized units tended to be Jedi, ARC Troopers and Republic Commandos.
Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed the hell out of the 2008 Clone Wars show like plenty of other people, but the Clone Wars media from those early years leading up to Revenge of the Sith.... sometimes it almost feels like a completely different war compared to the way most modern fans think of what the Clone Wars was like.
But then again, I grew up during the Prequel Era and not during the 2010s/2020s era, so a lot of that I'm sure is nostalgia on my part.

Honestly, the Republic and later Empire should've taken a few notes from some of the Seperatist Droids.
Sure, not all of them, and not too many of them either, for political reasons of course, but stuff like this could've been very useful.
Maybe a Rebel Cell with one or 2 of these bad boys, stored in perhaps an Acclamator repurposed to be a mobile Rebel Base could've done wonders on the slightly tougher Imperial outposts they stumbled upon across the 23 years of Imperial rule.

    • @tk-6967
      @tk-6967 Před 9 měsíci +1

The Empire did take notes. In the EU the Empire used a few CIS models in the early to bolster their troops, but politically it was difficult to get new droids, although there were plenty of prototypes. The same is true for canon, and the Empire even had their own version of the AAT.

    • @thalmoragent9344

Yeah, the usage of Droids in combat certainly left a bad taste in the mouth of many worlds across the galaxy so, makes sense the Empire would only have a handful of Droid units on hand.
Hell, same for Republic vehicles. The Venator as an Imperial Carrier should've been around in greater numbers than they were.

This is the most information I've heard about this droid. 👏🏻
    Some thoughts:
I wonder if it's spaceworthy? Seems big enough to skip the carrier.
The Colicoid that designed this might have seen things like the MTT and AAT and decided that they weren't murderous enough.
Imagine if they polished up the designed so it wasn't prohibitively expensive, which seems the way of all the good stuff according to the Trustworthy Sith Accountants.

Ah the mighty Protodeka my favorite weapon in the CIS arsenal and I'll tell you what these things were intimidating as a kid when I played the Clone Wars Game, of course I was bit annoyed they didn't show up in other media afterwards and really the game is a bit dated as it states Raxus Prime is a backwater when its in the same system as Raxus Secundus the CIS capital but I will cut the game slack on that because well it wasn't a concept until 2009, that said with that lore in mind it makes one think that Palpatine leaked the information on the Dark Reaper because he knew that Dooku would actually have a means to not just win the war for the CIS but also kill him, just deploy the Reaper and its harvester on Coruscant and death. Also I'm fairly certain Palpatine is the reason these didn't show up often, much like he made sure the C-B3 Cortosis Battle Droids didn't become mainstream because well he was deathly terrified of them which by the way it says a LOT about CIS engineers that they created weapons that made even Darth Sidious terrified of the prospect of facing them which it says a LOT if you can get one of the most terrifying characters in the setting who can destroy planets with Force Storms (Which by the way renders the need for a Death Star pointless when he can just do that with the force) is terrified of a droid mass produced and made of cortosis.
So yeah one of my favorite units in the CIS, glad to have them in Fall of the Republic which so far is the only mod to have the things and they handled the implamentation of them well as you cannot build them you earn them as a mission reward making them formidable. But one question remains would an A6 Juggernaut be able to take a Protodeka down?

to be fair...having a glass canopy makes the AT-TE not as tough as it should be, still dont understand that design oversight.

I hated the scorpanek is tbobf it literally hurt a rancor but the actors we barely care about got to live behind a sand wall, and the scorpanek should have yeeted a rancor instead of only shooting once

I HATED these things in the Clone Wars game. Seeing TWO of them side-by-side in the open fields of Thule had me wishing I could just like, not fight them.
