If it's bugging anyone, the host of the show is Eric Palladino. He played Dr. Mallucci on ER, but he's been on every cop show on tv: NCIS, CSI, Blue Bloods, etc. plus a bunch of films. Not sure if anyone has posted this, but Ray sang vocals on Black Sabbath's The Eternal Idol. But he left before the album came out and Tony Martin re-did the vocals. If you can find a copy with Ray singing, then you'll enjoy his take on the music.
I just get in the loop kinda late but undoutedly that record recorded with Sabbath with Ray on vocals sounds really amazing. Tony's work is great but Gillen's singing is so clear and passionate. I got a copy some years ago. Really a piece of treasure
Gillen sounds a little like Coverdale. I read a Jake Lee interview when he was still with Ozzy. He said that he was saving his best material for life after Oz. I guess Badlands never really made it. That shows just how hard it is to make it in the music business.
Badlands was a great band. The problem was they were lumped in with hair metal because jake played with Ozzy during ozzys "glam" years. As the seattle scene broke every one of those bands were ignored by their labels almost immediately. Another problem with Badlands was Ray had gotten sick and was noticeable "less healthy" (jakes words) during that second album. They would have been done no matter how big they would have gotten. Add in that Ray supposedly got a few women sick knowing what was wrong with him and badlands just gets a bad rap all around. IMO they were one of the most underrated bands in history. A shame.

Jake E Lee a Master Guitarist whom spread his wings very wide- Once his unfortunate journey with Ozzy and Sharon came to an End. Jake has all the Respect of his fans around the world, as well Other Musician's through the Globe. And most importantly the whole world knows: That if it was not for- MR. Jake-E-Lee- Bark at the Moon and The Ultimate Sin Albums- would had never had been Created... And Ozzy and Sharon would be still be living in and out of low budget Motels; and eating out of a Card board Boxes every day. Shame on them - For how they miss treated Jake for all those years!!

And don't forget The Ultimate Sin that's my favorite Ozzy album but Bark At the Moon is one of my two favorite Ozzy songs along with No More Tears.

My buddy caught a towel from Great White. But I really wanted to see Badlands...blew me away man. Ray sounded incredible, his vocals were just as good live as they were on the albums, if not better. Tesla and Great White were killer too, but Badlands kicked serious ass that night. Ray was a beast!

We didn't really know much about Tesla at the time, but they were very impressive to say the least. All we could talk about for days, was how good they were. I was so excited the day my 'Mechanical Resonance' cassette came in the mail from Columbia House. lol That's so cool that you met the guys, glad to hear Frankie was cool. He really seems like a down-to-earth dude. Yeah, Ray was the real deal that's for sure. He had it all... talent, looks, the guy just looked like a rock star. Seeing Badlands live was something I'll never forget. Sucks how their story ended, but for their short duration together, they gave us some great music.
I saw that tour at RPI Fieldhouse in Troy, NY. We liked all three bands but we were must excited to see Badlands. They were great. What I remember most about that night was being annoyed that Great White never played Rock Me.
Love badlands, Jake to me always seems a bit more in his element with his badlands material, he can definitely melt faces (with the ozzy stuff) but to me that was just a job opportunity where he had to play and try and match Randy’s classical madness along with putting his own spin to it. Whereas here he’s playing the more classic/blues rock styled stuff that’s more true to him, can hear Hendrix and cream Clapton all over his playing in this video

I have all 3. Each one has some of my favorites. Even with Dusk being left over, unreleased tracks that time didn't allow a revisit by the band, there is still some amazing hard rock songs on there. Tribal Moon is one great example. The River is another.
i still have gregs, jakes and rays autograph on the back of poster i ripped off the wall at a show. fern park station Orlando Florida, circa 1991. we hung out near the side door after show, they talked to some of us for a while. i was 21.
How was the set list that night? Was the place packed? They tore down the Station years ago. My parents used to go there. Right up the street from where I used to live.
I remember watching a lot of VH1 Classic back in the day. One time they showed a video for “Winter’s Call”. I remembered that Jake was in Badlands and was an Ozzy man. So I gave it a chance. The point of this story? Winters Call blew my mind. It was fucking awesome! Also, Dreams in the Dark is a monster. Badass. Good times
Stevie Ray brought the blues out of a lot of the Ameican metal guitarist of the time, "Way Cool Jr" from DiMartini is a good example, I didn't really dig it, but Jake is still the man.

Listen to their demo release Dusk which is basically live in the studio since they did it almost completely in one take. Ray didnt even have finished lyrics so it was partly improvised I heard in a clip about it. Anyway, the musicianship is as good as it gets.

Aaron Hildebrand No doubt my friend. I grew up forty miles from the brothers here in Texas. Started following them in the eighties all of Dallas/Fort Worth. None of them ever felt above shooting the shit after a show and drinking with the regulars. I think Phil is the only one who was really overcome with the spotlight.

In no way shape or form does he sound like David Coverdale! What is that crap?! David has a raspy voice and is one of the best in rock and Ray's is great too but it is way high and nothing like David's...where does this come from?!
The first album he sounds in the vein of Coverdale/Plant, but I think that the next record "Voodoo Highway" he has much more his own sound and style developed. Their first album has a bit of "standard 80s rock/metal" flavor still in it as they likely wanted to play it safe moving to the more blues thing.
The host is actually very attractive but no one wants to admit it. I wish the younger gen today still looked like this and rocked to REAL music instead of the Justin Beiber hairstyle and nonsense they wanna call music.

In no way shape or form does he sound like David Coverdale! What is that crap?! David has a raspy voice and is one of the best in rock and Ray's is great too but it is way high and nothing like David's...where does this come from?!
The first album he sounds in the vein of Coverdale/Plant, but I think that the next record "Voodoo Highway" he has much more his own sound and style developed. Their first album has a bit of "standard 80s rock/metal" flavor still in it as they likely wanted to play it safe moving to the more blues thing.
