    So you have to remove your optic and re-zero it every time you clean your slide. I wish I’d known this before buying this gun because I wouldn’t have.

      @rockman09022 Před 7 měsíci

      I don’t know how many rounds you shoot on weekly basis or the type of ammo you use, but in the 2 years and 4000+ rounds I’ve shot the MR in competition and with all cheapest ammo I could find, the striker channel itself looks brand new still with none existent friction. I use a dry q-tip to wipe the channel every few range trips and so far I’ve had zero extraction/slide related issues. If you got the dot zero’d in properly it wouldn’t take more than 9 rounds to re-zero once you’ve reassembled the optic. Just my two cents

    This helped a lot. I purchased a MR920 w/ optic cut last weekend. I was taking it apart to clean it and I thought I was missing the extractor assembly. I was about to give customer support a call, but I saw this video first.

    I love my MR920 as well. Thanks for putting this up, it's nice to see how it's done. I was going to be reaching out to Richie with this question soon, but this saves us both some time. It's comforting to know that spring has been designed to exactly replicate the stock Glock one. A couple of thoughts:based on my conversation with Ritchie, it's probably useful to mention that you want Loctite 243 not the more common 242. It makes much less of a mess, and it eliminates the slight possibility of excess running down into the inner workings of the slide and causing malfunctions. Also, what's the punch size for that smaller punch that fits through the pass-throgh hole for removing the retaining pin on the Extractor assembly? Keep up the great work guys!

    The bevel at the rear of the slide is a curious decision, considering how thin the rear-sight dovetail became as a result. That looks like very little metal holding the rear sight in place...

    • @ShadowSystemsCorp
      @ShadowSystemsCorp  Před 4 lety +5

      Matthew, nice observation! When we made that decision we did not take it lightly. Our testing consisted of machining the back off the slide at the same angle but much “deeper” into the slide leaving exactly 50% of the metal that the actual production slide has. We installed the rear sight and put it on a gun. We then bolted a half inch steel plate to a work bench and lined up our assembly team. They racked the slide at max effort 500 times on the edge of the plate, often with their full body weight behind it. You should have seen what this slide looked like. Mangled! The rear sight did not move in the slightest. We then went to the drop test fixture and did multiple drops on concrete landing directly on the rear sight. Even we were surprised that the notch did not loosen. To be totally honest, we finally went out to the parking lot and chucked the gun 20 or so feet in the air. On the second drop the rear sight notch did loosen up. With that said, we are very satisfied that it will stand up to any reasonable abuse. I’ll add that the plastic sights you often see on stock guns would have been sheared off or totally smashed far earlier in such a test. We feel confident that there is plenty of material, because again, all of this happened at 50% the true material thickness. Thanks again for the comment. You’ve got a keen eye.

    • @ShadowSystemsCorp
      @ShadowSystemsCorp  Před 4 měsíci

      Hello! Definitely not. The removal of the extractor assembly is armorer level maintenance that is likely never done for the vast majority of pistols. It is really only needed in the case of a component replacement which is exceedingly rare. The firing pin assembly is removable any time should the channel need to be cleaned (no need to remove the optic.). Hope this info is helpful.

Seen the open hole and thought mine was missing the plunger and spring. I remember that odd cut and spring when I mounted the 507 on it. Sent an email like a moron worried my piston was missing a $10 part. At least now Im not waiting days to hear back and get to fire the piston right away. In my defense I'm used to G platforms, just not big improvements on them lol.

      @@ShadowSystemsCorp Thank you for the reply. After all of this, I finally got to the range sunday. Fired 5 rounds myself through 5 different mags, then let the armorer there fire it. My extractor indeed has a problem. Its stuck out basically. Maybe that's why it felt odd to me. Goes into battery no issue but will NOT extract the round in chamber. We pulled the gun down and the extractor hangs open in the slide. Im waiting today until the shop where I bought it can see what they can do for me before I call. Ive watched several of your videos now and your custom service level is just unheard of today.
