Thats awesome! Funny, thats what brought me back to this video, I was at a KMFDM show a few nights ago and while washing my hands in the venues bathroom I noticed a girl next to me had a birthday massacre pop socket on her phone. After complimenting her on it, she mentioned she was in this video, I believe she said she was number" 33". Can't remember now but thought that was cool, lol. The birthday massacre has been one of my faves for about 20 years now, definitely must be a cool memory to be in one of their videos 💜

Celldweller is probably the only other artist I can name off-hand that fuses electronica and traditional instrumentation this well. Been rocking TBM for over a decade.
Went out to see 'em last year. Let's just say I was a bit too excited, and got too damn hammered which led me to leave the venue early. Ended up on a different side of town shortly after, trying to nap on the side of the road in some desert landscaping (ended up getting covered by ants). Anyhow! Wish that I seen their entire performance. One of my honest regrets in life.

I came in late with Hide and Seek, and holy shit this band is so underrated
basically, the student has a crush on the teacher and holds him in a very high regard. the teacher, at first, seems to be living up to that and seems very kind and sweet, but as she learns more she finds hes been feeding all of his students lies and abusing them. when she finds out whats happening isnt normal, she doesnt know what to do and tries to confront him. thats when chibi gives her the poison apple and she gives the apple to the teacher.

This song is about feeling caged with the deep feelings you have for someone who keeps hurting you over and over again. Even though you see it coming, you can’t defend yourself from the pain they are about to inflict yet you continue to take their abuse because you love them. This song is basically about admiring someone and they don't return the admiration. And you get so exhausted from continuously convincing yourself you have a chance over and over again until the hope fades into nothingness and you come out the other side realizing you're beautiful and amazing, and don't need the approval or attention of some person you're infatuated with.

I love how light-hearted they sound, yet once you listen closely to the lyrics you see a deeper meaning that is much darker than it first seems.
My sibling, although she doesn't listen to them, says that their lyrics are amazing and extremely creative.
I'm proud to say I'm a huge fan of TBM, I own all of their songs and memorized the majority. I hope they continue for years to come.

I have been listening to gothic music and learning more about the subculture as I have been interested with this stuff for ages now, I have been in LOVE with rock and metal for a long time so gothic rock is definitely my thing, other genres of the gothic music has also been really nice to listen to, I have also been loving the style and how welcoming it makes me feel. It makes me feel I can express my true self, it makes me feel at home. It’s such a nice comfort feeling. ❤

This isn’t gothic. Gothic Goth would be be bands like Siouxsie and The Banshees, The Cure, Christian death, Rosetta Stone,Bahaus, Sisters of mercy, Specimen,Acid Bats etc. The TikTok is full of misinformation and that’s the problem. Deftones is definitely not “ goth” either. I saw someone say they were “ goth “ and I died inside. Not trying to gatekeep, but TikTok has done massive damage with misinformation and people have to be corrected. Of course you can like more than one genre. Good music is good music, but let’s call it what it is. This is more like synth pop alt metal/rock

I discovered this awesome music around 2008. Dream come true to see them in concert in San Diego a few years ago. Still LOVE 'EM!!!
A friend showed me Blue back in 07 or so, then I forgot about them for about 10 years. Glad to hear their sound has evolved and matured but still keeping the same feeling

I have followed them since 2005 and I still listen to them. I love that they are still present. A big hug from Uruguay. Hopefully one day I can see them live as I have done with Rata Blanca among other bands in the region.
2022 and still loving this song AND this band, saw them in Nottingham on the 9th and they were fabulous and Chibi really interacts with the audience which I love when artists do that ❤️ I just wish they had more recognition because they deserve it.

The Birthday Massacre is one of those bands you listen to in your edgy phase and then once you're out of it, you forget about them.

15 years ago. It is crazy how many years have past since this first came out. Doesn't seem that long ago. Kind of annoying that this only got 6 million views. Very underated video/band. To this day this song is still a great song. It is timeless.

Why can't people just comment purley on how amazing this video is? It's genius. It's not something you can explain you just watch and know. The lyrics and the concept conect symetrically-bowing down and giving up everything you have to another being be it may the person you're in a relationship with or a God. You're blinded by your love for them but it's a false love or "false devotion" because they want you to believe their lies until you're left broken with nothing.

This song is so relatable as a victim of sexual harassment from a trusted professor. I have recently reported him and now this song has become my method of healing.
Hali Muller I am sorry you had to go through this. None of those things should ever happen to anyone. If I went through sexual harassment in college 2 yrs later or something, I would definitely tell my mother, a caretaker, or any other adult that I trust. And somehow, long after reporting whoever it would be (which sexual harassment is uncool), my main method of healing would be lots of therapy once a week, and the songs that would help me get through the healing process would be this, along with "Monster" by Meg and Dia, "Before I'm Dead" by The Kidney Thieves and "Spade" by Marilyn Manson. Like I said before, I'm sorry you had to go through all of this, and a year's passed since you had written that comment. I hope you are doing better ❤️

I interpreted as the teach pretending to be a good guy and he used the girls’ infatuation with him to take advantage of them. The projector with screen was to represent their trust and he was able to go through and mess with their mind, probably molested them.
