Al is conflating the term gay with the term homosexual. You have to be gay in order to be bisexual. There is simply no way around that. He is not homosexual because he is attracted to both men and women. If he were only attracted to the same sex, he would be considered homosexual. You cannot remove the fact that you are sexually attracted to the same sex (gay) from the equation of your bisexuality. The term gay simply describes the fact that you are attracted to the same sex, but the term is not all encompassing. The term bisexual is the categorization of your sexuality specifically.
