Have a bunch of friends that have had them do conversions and they come out great. Just be careful with the new rule of the rims having to have the SFI sticker on them. Not sure if they will enforce the rule unless you go quicker than 6.50 but it's in the rulebook, check it out.

Do those wheels certify for NHRA? I heard as soon as you modify a wheel, it won’t cert, even powder coating a wheel

When you say a 15” wheel, I assume you mean a 15” diameter by 15” wide.. when you do the 16” conversion, does it change it to a 16” width as well? The 3191W is what me and my brother both run, it is hands down an amazing tire for us.. what I wonder tho is how it would work on a 15” wide wheel, as I think the tire was designed to be used on a 16” wide wheel..

Nick Craig the conversion only changes the diameter.. not width... so you bring up a great question regarding the width. I’m actually thinking I might send in my old mans “spare” set of 16” rims and just have them bead locked instead of using my 15” rims and converting them. I’m still trying to figure out what I want to do I guess

@@GallStarTV I'm all for trying new things, but when I made my switch I did end up selling my 15" wheels and just went 16x16. My brother had a set of non-beadlock welds and we were ready to essentially send them out within a couple days to get converted to beadlocks, but last minute I found a smokin deal on a set of beadlocked wheels that worked perfect and were in really good shape. Good luck with whatever you decide, I can definitely say that you will like the 3191W tire!

I've seen a lot of bracket racers tend to favor the MT's over Hoosiers... is there a reason for this? I've read where some guys have tried both tire brands in the same size and nearly the same compound, and it just depends on what works for everyones specific car, but it just seems like MT's are favored more. Have you tried both Hoosier and MT? If so, why do you prefer MT since I noticed that's what you run. Thanks, and by the way, keep up the videos. I've learned a lot and am getting ready to try bracket racing in 2020

Hey David!! Great questions! Yes we’ve tried Hoosiers in the past, but it seems like in the last few years MT has really taken over. In fact, just last season I knew a guy that tried a new Hoosier tire and the car slowed down almost a TENTH in the eighth compared to the MT bubbas.. I couldn’t believe it. Overall, I’ve just had way better consistency on the starting line with MT tire and I think most racers would agree with that 👍

@@GallStarTV Thanks. I've got a pair of Hoosier D05 31x14x15 that came with my Nova on the purchase. They've got around 40 passes or so on them and feathered on one side of the tire (I'm guessing the insides, so I mounted them to where the feathering is now on the outside) but have a lot of life on them. The last time these tires were ran were at least late 2017 from my guess, but I'm hoping they aren't junk by now after sitting in sheds/shops where temps are extremely high or really cold depending on the season. I have been thinking about buying MT's when the time comes for a new set of tires though. I've already got a pair of new Champion double beadlocks to help aid the consistency of the car, (even though I think it'll be high 6's, 7.0s) but double beadlocks should be the most consistent and also in case the car ever does go really fast, I already have the wheels to do it. Again, thanks for the info. Your channel has helped me on somethings I wasn't 100% about in terms of bracket racing strategies.

What is the cost of turning non headlocks into Beadlocks
