Being stupid is to look down a barrel of a gun and accidentally pulling the trigger.
      He's still alive today.
Like they said, he has 1000's of climbs under his belt. He knows what he's doing.

I am also a climber and I think it is very much about heightened adrenaline too. I agree it's about peace of mind and focus, in fact, the release of adrenaline helps increase your mental concentration (as well as physical abilities). When you are stressed / panicking then that means "something has gone wrong", but it isn't equal to high adrenaline.

So many of their respective accomplishments were (and remain) mind boggling to me. Having the chance to occasionally listen to the climbers talk about things at Camp 4 is a memory I will cherish and take to my grave. That being said, this young man is literally at a level beyond my comprehension and totally eclipses anything I have ever experienced or observed! If one is correctly roped to a partner(s), this obviously allows the climber to concentrate on the climb itself, while diminishing to a minimum the worry of falling. This guy has neither. I am truly in awe! To put it another way, I can’t figure out how he climbs more than ten feet off the ground as his balls must weigh at least 100 ponds!!!!

12:23 first things this man says after climbing that gigantic cliff without a rope is “Should I go to the tippy top?” 😂😭

I'm 61....just hiked half dome in October and almost had a panic attack with the cables that lead to the top and honestly was glad to get back to the subdome and the hike back down. Can't even imagine being on the face of it.

There's no adrenaline rush. Wow. He's just so good at climbing and he has so much confidence in his ability. Yet he still is humble enough to know his limitations.

He could have come into real problems with the water that was comming from the rock. Belief in his almost super natural skills, and confidence is also whats going to get him killed one day. He can master his body and mind, but he can never have 100% controll over nature. Nature is always changeing.

I've never seen a news report like this. The reporter so was ridiculously into him, you couldn't even do a parody. This is the parody.

It's not a news report...it's a feature story. Feature stories are like that -- someone who's "into" a person, place, or thing guides readers into it so they can share somewhat in the experience. I thought she was awesome. She kept it calm, no oohing or aahing, no OMGs. She allowed him to come through as the extraordinary person he is. Almost none of us can understand Alex Honnold, yet you feel like you've maybe had a glimpse after watching this.

Couldn't she just be amazed by his skill as a climber? If it was a male interviewer with the same amazement no one would think there was any sexual component to it.

It's not a criticism. It is what it is. If a man did it though. He would be considered a creeper.
