I, too, was blessed to hear him live, at Central Lutheran Church in Minneapolis, many years ago, accompanied by the glorious Casavant organ there. What a thrill for the young people in this video to perform with him!
Definitely the royal wedding arraingement of this magnificent piece!!! We see here maurice in his glorious prime at the height of his powers hitting this one way out the park!!!!!! It was moments like this that made him the greatest trumpeter of the 20 th, century!!!!
This is one of those rare fantastic pieces of music like the minuets of Handel's fireworks musik thatreally does it for me, I envision going "over the top" and being either victorious or gloriously massacred.
czcams.com/video/mmr16Fd2vq4/video.html This version's quality is better. Not great, but better. There's a lot of white noise, but the sound isn't clipping anymore so you can appreciate the power of the whole brass section
Jamesbondus1820 😢 Google translate i'm French ans my english is bad. Thanks a lot
I did some research based on the logo on the performance screen "Musique Classique". Apparently this was performance was a television broadcast and maybe we are seeing the home-recorded broadcast. For those who want to obtain the studio's recording, here is Wikipedia's discussion of Musique Classique. PLease post if you locate the original recording. Wikipedia: MUSIQUE CLASSIQUE. Created on 2 April 1996, Musique Classique was a television channel owned by AB Groupe. The programming consisted of classical concerts, opera, lyrical works, and magazine programmes (e.g. À livret ouvert...). The channel was run by Jean-Michel Fava. Musique Classique was shown on the AB Sat package, some cable operators, such as Noos-Numericable (see also Numericable (NOOS)) and ADSL operators such as Freebox TV. The channel was not available on Canalsat or TPS. History[edit] On October 15, 2007 at 10:00 AM, the channel ceased broadcasting to make way for Ciné First, which also stopped in September 2010.[1]
This piece is marvellous! It's a pity that the version on youtube is that bad : through bad (too loud) recording excessive distortion occurs in the sound
OMG. I appreciate good honking. Andre is simply beyond belief. This was an exquisite performance of the Clark March. I'd buy the DVD if it was recorded. Unparalleled.
Thank you!-Michael McClary
From what I've been told, Maurice Andre came from humble roots. He honors my own humble roots with his unparalled artistry.
Indeed, he came from a mining family. He himself worked in the mine from 14 to 18 years old.
This was the tune that was played for my wedding, coming into the church.
Karen when did you get married? My aunt used this for her wedding processional in 1987

pour moi aussi, c'était il y a 45 ans ! for me too, it was 45 years ago !

You are beautiful and I wish you happiness!!!
This is the most amazing rendition I've ever heard, glorious.
Prince of Denmark's March played by The King Maurice Andre, something beyond Royalty
Bravo, majestuoso, angelical.

What a massive ensemble. Exquisite trumpet technique. It must have been an incredible live performance experience.
I sat here with cold chills running up and down my legs
and crying like a baby. Marvelous !
I had the good pleasure to see Monsieur Andre at my high school in 1970. What a delightful concert!
You are a lucky person....or should I say blessed! Monsieur Andre was probably the one who made the piccolo trumpet popular. I Love his recordings!

I like the idea to compaign with choir and orchestra.
And Maurice ...simply fantastic!
He is great and the orchestra is also great.
³,
I never get tired of hearing this great voluntary. Usually when I play this, it is on the organ with a trumpet.

Amazing! I really enjoy listening to Maurice Andre.
Correction: the Trumpet Voluntary is actually the Prince of Denmark's March by Jeremiah Clarke, and Trumpet Tune a different song is by Henry Purcell
Epic and just awesome - RIP Maurice
My headphones can't handle the glory.
I NEVER tire of the Trumpet Voluntary March by Henry Purcell!
Please. Give Clarke the credit.
The great trumpet player Maurice André the best of the world
Franchement j'adore. C'est sublime.
I love this version too. Power and majesty!
I have always loved this ! So special it was part of your wedding !
Fantástico, majestoso 🎶🎺💓
Sublissime Maurice André...
HOLY CRAP, my speakers cannot contain the holy sounds of the video...
Awesome. When I was a young man I would play this Purcell piece every morning as a wakeup call.

how come I tend to drop a tear or 2 whenever I hear this tune?
Kurt jørgen larsen. I do too, is because you listen with your soul?
@@Tolucoregonian no, you listen with your ears
It's made in honour of a Danish Prince, Prince George (Jørgen), Prince Consort of Queen Anne. That why, of cause.
A humble Dane🤔😉🤣
The most majestic tune of all time.. it reminds me of Princess Diana walking down the isle at her wedding..

My god... how breathtaking it must have been to see this live. Wish I could have been there. Though I'd have been a few years too young.

Oh no. The sound quality being "poor" is an understatement. This is going to destroy your ears and leave you traumatised.
Felicitaciones por esta música tan linda

As is well known Andre quite talented. Just note: this Voluntary written by Clarke.
I actually played this at my 6 grade concert this year
