Now let's begin our Java Installation.
Step 1. How to Download Java

This page will lead to the JAVA JDK download page.
Find the installation file and then simply click on it for download. You need to click the Oracle License agreement. Download the JDK as shown in the video as per your operating system. Here is this video we showed how to download and install java on windows 10/11.
Now after downloading JDK save the file to the disk and follow the next step for installation.
Step 2. Install Java 19
Double-click to run the JDK download file. Just follow the prompt as shown in the video and install JDK on your OS.

bro i use same method with jdk 20 and after that when i run java --version it gives me this error
Unrecognized option: --version
Error: Could not create the Java Virtual Machine.
Error: A fatal exception has occurred. Program will exit.

It is still showing file not found while following all steps till 7:30 of the video.
at first it didn't work because i forgot to close the java installation(the one with the next step button & close java) after closing it actually worked in the command prompt, i got scared for a second there. anyways, thanks man!!! really appreciate you doing this you helped a lot of people like me!!

WOW, after lots of search to find a fix for my problem with Java, your site is the only one that actually solved my problem. BTW, I originally deleted all signs of Java before trying to install the latest update. I think I lost "Java Home" in the process. Thx so much

Successfully installed java, edited environment variable fields also, but in the command prompt it is showing that
Error: could not find or load main class __version
caused by : java.lang.classNotFoundException: __version

Followed step by step but receiving 'error: file not found: HelloWorld.java' when trying to create the class. Any ideas?
ETA - Figured out I had hidden extensions. Once I disabled that setting, I was able to update the file extension to .java and everything worked as expected.

I've had this issue where it can't read the document when you are doing the javac part.
Here is the fix that I found worked:
Go to Control Panel by searching for it in the start menu.
Go to Appearance and Personalization
Go to Folder/File Explorer Options
Click View
In advanced settings, go to Hide extensions for known file types
Uncheck that
Go back to the text document and remove the .txt so its only .java.

once I got to the point where I have made the txt file I was unable to convert it into a java file which prohibited me from running the code. I am unsure of what I did wrong. The cmd window tells me "error: file not found: helloWorld.java"
If there is any feedback, I would really appreciate it. Other than that, the video was really well put together and I appreciate the help you have supplied thus far.
I figured it out! To all the people struggling in some way with coding, google is your best friend. I'm picking programming back up from a while ago and what i remember from my classes was google and stackoverflow were wonderful tools. I didnt use them to cheat, just find out what i was doing wrong, which is the best way to do all this because you actually learn something and gain useful skills!

@@mcnicotin8983 you need to convert the file to a .java file. My program didnt work at first because i had certain settings on my computer that didnt allow me to. I cannot remember how i did this exactly, but all it took to figure it out was a quick google search on the topic.
