    What a super trip. Great to get away from the usual tops. That one had super views, well whilst you could see them. Love your minimalist approach. It certainly works well for you. Good to be forewarned that there was likely some snow. As you mentioned good to know there was a safe way down if, and as there was, a covering. Great video Stripey.

    I take my hat of to you putting the wet socks back first thing in the morning (torture), I can’t do that anymore. Back in the 80s I was working on a oil tanker in Brest France were I wore rubber salopettes every day which leaked in the crude oil. Every morning for months I had to put on oil sodden socks .sounds funny but eventually it becomes very painful. I always take spare everything now .🥶Well done Stripey.Cheers James

      Thanks a lot James! I can only imagine how horrible that must have been 😐. Yeah socks for changing are quite a nice thing but my trail runners aren't waterproof so it would help me only the first 5 minutes...therefore in summer I can walk them fairly quick dry ☺️.

    Good stuff again Stripey. I've started using a SOL / Adventure Medical Kits emergency bivvy bag as a groundsheet / footprint. Like you I reinforced the corners with gaffer tape so I can peg it down. It packs much smaller than a Tyvek or ready made footprint and can still be used for its original purpose.

      Good idea mate 🙌. What is your experience with the durability?

    • @fellrunningguide
      @fellrunningguide Před rokem +1

      @@StripeyHatGuy No problems so far. It's quite robust material and if you keep it as a bag then you get a double later. I think it would puncture if you layed on anything sharp - so don't lay on anything sharp!

      Sounds good! Like your thinking 😁

    • @fellrunningguide

      @@StripeyHatGuy It's a good bit of emergency kit to have anyway, so nothing lost even if you don't use it as a groundsheet.
      Only downside is that it is tricky to get back into its bag once you've unrolled it, but I usually just fold it up then repack it properly once I get home. Takes up little space even out of its stuff bag.

      thank you very much. In Scotland you are allowed to cross public land for recreational purposes. Obviously you need to behave like a normal person when doing so.
