Prime and Animated are interchangeable. For me they are the best shows in the Franchise. They both have problems that the other covers, and if someone makes a combination of the two then I'll watch it for an eternity.

I like Prime for the animation, stories (though Animated had great stories too, I just want like the ideas of the stories more), dialogue, and villain roster (no disrespect to Animated, but I think that the roster on Prime had an edge because of how brutal the villains could be).
Animated has those nice quiet moments to reflect upon and use to grow, the comedy is great, and I love all the characters (Ratchet, Prowl, Megatron, Shockwave, and Blitzwing are my favorites). They both have greatness to them, and combining their greatness would be great.

I actually like how high on the list Rescue Bots was... it actually caught my attention. And it had quite a few dark parts for a kids show... Remember the end of Season 1?
I absolutely LOVE Rescue Bots! :D I thought that considering the animation and the fact it really was for younger kids and silly at times, it had great characters with great personalities that developt throughout the show. You know, people you actually cared about :) And some great lessons. Nowadays it seems everything has to be dumbed down for the younger audience and personally I think that really sucks :/

And I was actually tense and worried that it wouldn't get a 4th season. Because that would've left so many open plot holes.... and it's nice to see them grow..
My favorite episode had to be the Quint Quarry and Lord Chumley episodes. Chumley was exactly like G1 Chumley, except that Quint looked like G1 Chumley.
And RB is what got me interested in Transformers again. I used to watch G1 when I was 6ish, when it was on Netflix, but they removed it. So, I forgot about Transformers till I found Rescue Bots.
I remember avoiding watching it because it looked, well... like it was for babies, as said above. But I tried it anyway and its ridiculous how much I love it

It would come on TV now and again when my younger siblings were watching cartoons, and I'd often find myself watching it.
It's just an adorably wholesome little show and I love it.

To be fair Prime is just 1 year younger than Animated. It's not nostalgia. I Rank prime 2nd to Animated tho, not because I like the other. It's just a better take on transformers. As an original Transformers fan since 84, I'd admit after season 1 of G1, seasons 2-3 were hit and miss. I personally love season 4 though. As for later cartoon iterations- love Beast Wars and have a weird fondness for R.I.D. 2001. Have all of the boxsets for the Japanese G1 stuff and agree that Victory is the best out of the three. Kudos for shining the light and giving some love for the Brave Yuusha cartoons. Love the toys (still have a few in my collection) and love most of the different Brave series.
I can’t begin to tell you how happy I way with number zero Brave Police J Decker is one of my favourite shows of all time. It’s a genuine tragedy how overlooked it is.
It's pretty sad how most people sweep victory under the rug by most people. However my issue with the show has to be the excessive amount of filler the show had in its original run....

Upvote for Rescue Bots getting a good ranking! The show is just criminally underrated and ignored. It has actual prograssion from season to season and it actually has that great moment where the Rescue Bots come out as alien robots to the people of Griffin Rock and it's the kind of moment I've been waiting for a long time. A moment where the 'masquerade' s dropped! Imagine how Prime would have been if Megatron's cyber-converting of Jasper and his demands to the world leaders HADN'T been blocked by the US Government? The world had learn of the Transformers?! Anybody remember the first season finale of X-Men Evolution? I want a moment like that happening in the next show!

I'll be honest with you, I think that Season 1 of Prime is better than Season 1 of Animated. The other ones seem a bit more of a personal opinion, but usually Transformers show become better the longer you watch them (the same happened to me with RiD 2015)

Tbh, I like both Prime & Animated but I definitely prefer Prime. I felt like they both had wasted potential but Animated more so. Maybe I'm biased because I'm not particularly a fan of 2D animation and the art style is a bit...ehhh. But they both offer something different to the franchise and that's what's great about TF. There is such variety in the franchise that there is something for everyone. I generally prefer the more grounded and realistic TF shows and media but if I want something fun to watch then I will go to something like Animated or G1.
PS. I'm sorry I was salty at you in 2017 for shitting on Prime but I lashed out simply because the show meant a lot to me personally and I didn't find your points to be very well conveyed.
To me they are both interchangeable. I can't force myself to like either of them more than the other. They both have strong points that make it hard to choose.

As decent or whack the bay movies may be, it has done the best thing for the franchise which is revive the hype after the drop of the early 2000s. If it wasn't for the live action franchise we probably wouldnt have gotten animated, prime, or cyberverse. The films are pretty entertaining too because of how amazing the cgi is

I really wish I could still like TF:Prime. It had such a good run of episodes and story arcs throughout, but there are a bunch of things that never got explained and stories with unsatisfying endings. The final episodes and movie were just outright garbage, and the heel-turn with Megatron is so idiotic and ludicrous, I cannot even watch the damn thing anymore. That's how much I hate that moronic end.

Maybe because it was created not only as a collection of toy commercials, but with a whopping 52-episode quota to meet because it was made to get the pre-Movie series up from 13 episodes (for weekend syndication) to the same illustrious 65 episodes (for weekday syndication) as their competing series Challenge of the Go-Bots?
I for one am just grateful that under such money-driven circumstances that Season 2 came out as well as it did, with at least enough good episodes (especially good 2-partners) to have created another 13-episode Saturday season... :1
I was definitely surprised that Prime didn't make it into the top 5, but i was very happy to see Animated at #1. As someone said in an earlier comment, the only thing wrong with Animated was a lack of a fourth season.

But to ask, did Optimus steal the “small cog in a big machine” speech from Sentinel, or did Sentinel steal it from Optimus? Seeing as how Sentinel’s character is that he’s a fraud who likes to steal credit and make everyone else look bad just to make himself look good.

I've watched it multiple times but not that many because it's so damn long and not every episode is a hit
Honestly, I'm happy that prime is in the top ten. I recognize that it's ... weak, as far as Transformers shows go, but when you have things like the Bay movies and the original Gen 1 show to live up to and try to combine without making things extremely silly, thennnnn you kinda have limits. And when your main focus is actually on the *characters* and not the entire conflict of the autobot/decepticon war, that limits you even further. I'm not saying it's entirely impossible to tell a compelling, well put-together story with these constraints, but I do recognize that it's insanely difficult when you're going for something more structured. Freeform entertainment wasn't quite as enjoyed outside of reality shows and stand-up comedy specials. Transformers has always been synonymous with exaggerated storytelling and compelling stories, and that right there is where the fault lies. The structure that comes with a story doesn't quite allow for the kind of freedom of form that Prime truly needed to soar like it deserved to. At times, it just seemed like an animated reality TV show; others, it was an action-packed adventure the likes of which few had seen before. I enjoyed it, but hey, I'm one person. I can't account for *everyone's* tastes.

The very first transformers show that I watched was Rescue Bots when I was around the age of 6-7 ish. While I wasn’t even a fan of transformers, I remember loving that show. The first transformers series I watched as a fan (after seeing the Bumblebee movie and becoming a huge fan) was Animated and at first, I thought it was just ok but as the series went on and characters developed I learned to love it. Transformers Animated is always going to be my favorite series and I think the only flaw I can find with it is that it didn’t get another season.
REMEMBER: This all HIS opinion.

Wow! For an american property, there's a shit ton of Japanese transformers shows! Like 40% of these were Japanese! I wonder why that is? Look at other properties that are similar to transformers like he-man or GI joe or Thundercats or ninja turtles. They don't really have many Japanese shows. I find you the exact opposite of myself when it comes to the ways we have chosen to handle the greatest problem the Transformers has: WE ALL KNOW TRANSFORMERS HAS ISSUES, a lot of them in fact. But while I wish transformers was more mature and had great serious stories for adults with deep plots and themes and try to ignore the dumb parts, you embrace them and try to enjoy the parodies. Well, I guess we have different way to handle the same issues.
