“Cold” & “I was wrong” are 2 great songs that you need to listen to live. What a voice !!!
My wife and I are long time musicians. We were at the 2015 CMA awards when nobody knew who Chris Stapleton was outside of Nashville. He sang one line and we looked at each other and said wow, who is this guy? Him, his wife Morgane and Justin Timberlake (and the band) proceeded to light that place up! It was an unforgettable performance and put him on the national map and he hasn't let up since. So glad we got to see him receive the spotlight he deserves!
I love how he looks at his wife when they are performing ❤️. Proud to be from his home state of Kentucky. He is a GOAT!!
Chris didn't think he sang all that well, he regarded himself as a songwriter and a guitar player, but his wife, Morgane singing with him there on stage encouraged him to sing and he also suffered from stage fright and her singing with him on stage actually helps him with that. Morgane has a beautiful voice of her own. You can see the love in their eyes when they sing on stage together and make eye contact and their 5 kids are proof, it's a strong love!
Chris always sounds better live! If you're going to go down this rabbit hole, look for live performances. His awards show performances are always 🔥. I could give you a huge list but here are three to start with ... 1) "Cold", live at the 2021 CMAs; 2 & 3) "Tennessee Whiskey" and "I Was Wrong" live at Austin City Limits. Just a jumping off place! The only one I recommend the video for is "Fire Away," which is his only 'produced' video. It shines a light on mental health and you'll need tissues to watch it. Chris is amazing! And, as others have mentioned, the female singer is his wife, Morgane. She is a knockout singer in her own right!

Hey Greg besides Tennessee Whiskey check his version of Its a Mans world live version. He was at a club and and the band asked him up on stage and gave a mind blowing performance. Yes he is like this live. Lol better than the studio any day. Great Reaction!!!

You just realized a major thing with country and rock/metal music:
There are studio bands, they sound great in the studio, but sound like crap live, then there are people/bands like Chris.
They sound better or just the same as they do in the studio and blow you away.
Chris is the latter of the 2 groups, plus his voice is universally known to make all women cream there pants!
He also Writes his own Music ! He used to sell his music too other top artist. Until he was talked into Start singing his own Music...! Thank You God for this Wonder Man and his Gift !!! ❤❤❤❤

Chris wrote a song that he wasn't going to record. He did when he was told that a lot of people could relate to it. And that it could help them deal with their feelings. It's called watch you burn. It's about the Las Vegas mass shooting. Another one that's amazing is with Justin Timberlake. It's Say Something. They did the video in one take!

Man, Chris has written so many songs for other artists but never really started singing himself until a few yrs back. And man when he did 😳 he blew it out of the water! He and his wife are the best Duo IMO and the sky is the limit. Listen to his other songs, you'll be glad you did.

I DISCOVERED Mr. Stapleton when I was diagnosed with inoperable stage IV metastatic Cancer , & all day Everyday for 3 Straight months in treatment. CZcams became a lifeline . 2 of my favorites Are (EITHER WAY) and let me Say " You know your F.... 'd" when Chris say either way.. lol

Rascal flatts was my first venture in to the country music world. Since then i have opened up a bit more. Chris Stapleton can really tell a story. Music has a way of bringing us all together. Like nothing else. We open our ears and hearts to the words and melodies. I was narrow minded about music for a long time. Being raised on jazz and Broadway. Music is just a wonderful voice. In all genres you can find something that you enjoy. Life's short. Open your heart and ears. Your perspectives will change. For the better.

The coolest thing about Country singers is that they sound the same live. They do not depend on studio BS. You can sing or you don't have a career. Pop, Rap, Hip Hop stuff is about effects, flash & costumes & skin. Not much depth to the lyrics & not a lot of actual good voices. I love that his wife Morgane is his back up singer & inspiration for his music.
Listen to his song "broken Halos". I'd listen to him sing the encyclopedia.
