The difference is food. That's really it. Both is a discovery process as well as a weeding out one. On a date though you have the ability to make yourself more unique by paying attention to the other prospects around you. For example if you are a guy pick a place where you have an opportunity to pull her chair out or a day and time when you have the opportunity to walk her home instead of drive so when you put your coat around her she remembers the smell of your incredible cologne.
Ladies he made the first move here is a strange idea. Pick up the check. Not fake offer. Actually do it and explain why. Let him know that he can pay for the next day or drinks later. That will setup two things. One it will tell you if he is more traditional at his core or more modern while showing him you appreciate his efforts of making the first move. Second thing it severely limits the will he/won't he call question.

I both cases, dates and job interviews, you are doing the choosing as much or more than they are. You are being sought in both cases, how do THEY measure up to your expectations? If it was the last single guy in the world and the last employer, that might be cause enough to be a little more concerned about their choice. The man already has expressed approval or he would not have risked asking you out. It is not easy to ask out a stranger, but he overcame his fear of rejection to ask you.

There are a lot of vids like this, and so much of it seems more appropriate for speed-dating than a real date. On a real date, these are almost all out-of-the-blue inorganic questions that I guess are okay if your date is only expected to last 20-30 minutes and you're having a tough time keeping the conversation going, but if you're able to set up a proper first date you can go on all sorts of tangents just by slowing down and asking a little more regarding the standard questions. One standard question: How many siblings do you have? A follow-up as simple as "Where do they live" opens the door for a story of a time you were in that city/area, any number of travel-related questions (which lead to MORE avenues of conversation) and none of it involves shifting straight from "How big of a family to you have" to "What is your favorite movie and why? Why! WHY GODDAMN YOU, WHY?!"

    • @stanspb763
      @stanspb763 Před 2 lety

There are millions of such men but you filter them out because they are not 6'3", or not driving a $150k car, or are not a doctor. Women have very long lists of requirements, pages of them and any one of them is the deal breaker. Men have a list also that can be printed on a postage stamp: Fit, attractive and nice. We do not care your career or income because we will never have access to your income. We do not care about your degree other than it makes you less attractive and narrows your worldview. A broadly educated person is far more interesting and attractive than a specialist who focuses on a narrow field. We care if you are kind in speech and actions, to us or anyone we see you interact with. A woman who is critical of waitstaff for example, or changes their attitude when dealing with "lessers" will not get another date with a serious man.
We can't say this but men will agree in their silence: Women under 50 yo who are overweight reveal they lack self-control
Men will accept wide ranges of traits in women but still would have preferred that they be fit and feminine, terms banned from any public utterance. We naturally gravitate to opposites and if there was a choice, masculine women would not be considered as a mate.
These long lists of qualifiers that woman make today did not exist in your mothers time. Most marriages were between people who knew each other from the same school or a very small pool of options who saw themselves as on the same level socially and culturally. Income was not a factor because most couples got together every early before careers were developed. There were low expectations for mate selection outside of their social and economic class. Normal people bonded with normal people. The idea that an average girl would have high expectations of holding out for the rich guy in the gated estate was not even thought about, and that was why almost everyone did get married and raised a new generation of successful family creators. The bottom 40% of men are never going to get a real date now, 35% of men age 30 are virgins and less than 5% of women that age are. Major changes in society has taken place within our lifetime, changes that lead to societal collapse. The current rate of birth is 0.8% births per woman, which means the current generation will be the end of millions of years of uninterrupted success in your ancestors raising a child that successfully reproduced. The only population with a reproducing level of offspring are first-generation immigrants in the North American and Northern European societies. For generations, overpopulation was a concern after sanitation and antibiotics caused an exponential population growth after about 1870 but now the concern is whole populations in demographic collapse. The people who are alive in your area 50 years from now, will have no genetic connection to you or anyone you ever knew. Dating customs and mate selection now, which are new trends unknown in history, assure demographic collapse.
Is dating for you a social function or a biological imperative? Depending on your answer, the odds are high of not succeeding. The ugly truth is most women now have set their sights on the same small group of men who have no incentive to settle down since so many women make themselves available to them. The larger majority of men will never get a partner. By creating criteria for mate selection that eliminate most women from the only men they will accept, a lot of very lonely middle and advanced age women are going to be left out of family creation. That great mass of men in the middle has realized they will never be selected and are giving up any contact with women. Great civilizations in history died out, for this reason, more often than being conqoured.

The checklist is not an instruction, it is something to think about if one is not used to dating and comfortable when first conversing with someone who is essentially a stranger. I would never prepare such a list because I am usually comfortable in any direction a conversation leads to. In fact, I have to check myself to assure she feels comfortable enough to do 2/3rds of the talking, otherwise, I could end up dominating the conversation.

From the audience, it might appear to be a fun exercise but getting up on stage, bright lights, a few hundred eyes in the audience and a hundred thousand across the country and thinking fast is just not something easily done on the spot. So her lack of any answer on some questions was excusable. What would have concerned me were the answers to the questions she did answer. I agree with the other hosts, two of the answers focused on children and even a man who loves kids would be wary. The questions were to project herself, her experiences, and her personality.
The first time I had a mic shoved in my face with cameras, despite being comfortable speaking to groups, was undermined by the focus on my, and my answers were hesitant, confused and came off badly. I got used to it later and felt more comfortable with practice.
In the girl's case we know so little about her from that exchange that it is not far to judge her personality. Her conversation sitting across the dinner table after a glass of wine, I would predict would be much more impressive.

I do not think that is the goal here. A first date can be intimidating so however interesting the girl is, some are not comfortable on the first date, particularly if she is just returning to or beginning dating. How to get through the first 30minutes until it becomes more comfortable can use some planning. If she is used to it, and socializes often she would not be on that show. Part of my job is to make her feel comfortable enough to be herself so we both fail if she never lets her spontaneous thoughts flow by the end of the evening.

Matthew! You just about landed in my doorstep!
I am a retired electronic technician, aged 72 and live in the Greater Montreal area.
But more important is what you said about those who choose to live here and why.
The winter is, at time bitterly cold, the economy is one of the poorest provinces in Canada, corruption is sordidly all-a-plenty, but yes, oit does discourage those who value other things more.
In my case, I am trilingual and love languages. On the streets of Montreal you can foind some 80 languages in a day, and don't expect just one dialect from each. Montrealers don't have to fly the world at great expense, ect. the world comes to us - and for more than just money.
If we do need to get to another major city there are plenty of transportation infrastructures, although distances in Canada are long. (Having had over 1 million Km. in my time on the road, I could surely tell you all the details!
I have been married for coming up 34 years, no children (medical reasons both sides), but if I were young and single again with so much I have learned the roughest and most independent way in a lot more than all the technology i have seen, done, and yes, survived (many were the type of jobs you do it right or you simple don't come bacK alive!), i think some young lady who theoretically might be interested, would have a big challenge to catch more than "the friend zone" from me, yet the "friend zone os aloways open to those who show the mettle (and remind North Americans that mettle has NOTHING to do with aluminum or steel!).
When I was young and single, I was far from popular, so many women I might have had a crush on, in retrosepct, I am glad, as much for their sake as mine that nothing got serious (and will that be in English, French or Spanish?)
It has been well shown that in spite of a history of a lot of emotional issues, I end up being a real one of a kind, as a result oif many underlying factors.
I am not an Aspergers case, but have the high intelligence (Mensa tested), and also have had many of the social difficulties that can plgue Aspergers' cases, but there are also marked differences that do not fit Aspergers. (Complicated medical explanation sided here). I once at random, in public on a commuter train had the chance to personally interview an Aspergers case.
Poor fellow but also I don't think he will ever understand what he will lose from that in life. His conversation to most people would have been so abosolutely inscrutable that they would hve been lost, but yet, with efforve been lost, but yet, with effort and concentration, I could understand the main lines of what he was telling me.
A published example of an Aspergers case is in the Indian Movie "My Name is Khan". it was offocially written in (I think it was Hindi) but with English subtitles.
But actually most of the movis is truly in englsh because after a short time oin India, Khan was sent to a clinic in San Francisco and the rest of it is all in the U.S. during the Bush regime. The play time is about 2 1/2 hours, so it is somewhat longer than many movies made for North American audiences, but it,in its own way is a downright humanitarian thriller.
When in the U.S. Khan got married amd his wife had a son,.but what so tragically happened to not only the son but the marriage is enough to make us take a far more serious look on life and the long term!
    What made the differences?
    1) Necessity is the mother of invention"
    2) where there's a will, there's a way! (But that will is born of the aforementioned necessity, so the two are even closer than hand in hand!)
    3) ¡ Haber compasión es la hija de han sida sofrie !
As one who LOVES his public Speaking, no unilingual person would need to understand one word of Spanish to realize there's MORE THAN THE WORDS in that!
After a moment of rhetoric pause, the translation:
"To have compassion is the dsughter of having suffered!
But when I tell the story so many times to younger generations, I also make it explicitly clear why I am telling it!
I am 72 years old, I am not going to live forever, but what I hav3e learned IN THE ROUGHEST WAY possible over most of a lifetime, I do not want that learning to die with me, so I am passing it to you as you are the ones who will have to "fight the good fight" long after I am gone. The principle is the same as the passing of the Olympic torch!
Hence for all the rancour and strife, I cannot regret, as in my last day I will have the true and inalienable altruism of knowing I have done my best in spite of all,.
...And that Altruism is the highest level in Mazlow's hierarchy of human needs!
So how many of your younger following would want to meet that size of challenge (let them see by the depiction of Khan's wife!, it is loosely comparable!)

It's one of the few good qualities women have these days what with them putting career over family, 'furbabies', feminism and all that crap. Liking children means you at least have some interest in raising a family and a man who wants a family will appreciate it.

    • @stanspb763

Who's fault is it if not hers? She sees guys she would like to meet, she should approach them. She will find it is a lot harder than just sitting back and waiting for the right guys comes along. Does to go out to participate in activities where she is around men doing the same thing she is? What are her interests for her own enjoyment, and does she do things that places herself into social situations around men who enjoy the same activities? If she seeks something she has to know she needs to go get it. Dating apps do not work, she needs to be out in the world and meet people she wants to meet.

On a first date? Just possibly. He asked you out because he thought you could be attracted to him as much as he already is to you. You are already given the benefit of the doubt and he wants to know more about your personality, and preferred way of communicating your thoughts and interests but save any answers that entail commitment and responsibilities for later when you are both more in turn with each other. You WILL scare him away if too early.
You are in the Sacramento area, I grew up there, and still have a duplex in Citrus Heights but lived in Marin where I have a home leased out most of my life and now in St Petersburg Russia. I saw one of your videos, with the outgoing personality and being very attractive I think that might scare some guys off if they are not very self-confident. Good luck in your sales and your dating life, you are really cute....
