  • DOCUEMENTARY ON THE LENNOX LEWIS AND MIKE TYSON FIGHT !
    Michael Gerard "Mike" Tyson (also known as Malik Abdul Aziz) (born June 30, 1966) is a retired American professional boxer. Tyson is a former undisputed heavyweight champion of the world and holds the record as the youngest boxer to win the WBC, WBA and IBF heavyweight titles at 20 years, 4 months and 22 days old. Tyson won his first 19 professional bouts by knockout, with 12 of them occurring in the first round. He won the WBC title in 1986 after defeating Trevor Berbick by a TKO in the second round. In 1987, Tyson added the WBA and IBF titles after defeating James Smith and Tony Tucker. He was the first heavyweight boxer to simultaneously hold the WBA, WBC and IBF titles, and the only heavyweight to individually unify them.
    In 1988, Tyson became the lineal champion when he knocked out Michael Spinks in the first 91 seconds of the fight. Tyson successfully defended the world heavyweight championship nine times, including victories over Larry Holmes and Frank Bruno. Tyson lost his titles to 42-to-1 underdog James "Buster" Douglas on February 11, 1990, in Tokyo, Japan, by a knockout in round 10. Tyson continued in his quest to regain the titles, defeating Donovan Ruddock twice in 1991. Tyson was then scheduled to take on the undisputed heavyweight champion Evander Holyfield but pulled out due to injury.
    In 1992, Tyson was convicted of raping Desiree Washington, for which he was sentenced to six years in prison but was released after serving three years. After his release, he engaged in a series of comeback fights. In 1996, Tyson won the WBC and WBA titles after defeating Frank Bruno and Bruce Seldon by knockout. After being stripped of the WBC title, Tyson lost his WBA crown to Evander Holyfield in November 1996 by an 11th round TKO. Their 1997 rematch ended when Tyson was disqualified for biting off part of Holyfield's ear.
    In 2002, he fought for the world heavyweight title at the age of 35, losing by knockout to Lennox Lewis. Tyson retired from professional boxing in 2006 after he was knocked out in consecutive matches against Danny Williams and Kevin McBride. Tyson declared bankruptcy in 2003, despite having received over US$30 million for several of his fights and $300 million during his career.
    Throughout his career, Tyson became well known for his ferocious and intimidating boxing style as well as his controversial behavior both inside and outside the ring. Tyson is considered to have been one of the best heavyweight boxers of all time. He was ranked No. 16 on The Ring's list of 100 greatest punchers of all time. and No. 1 in the ESPN.com list of "The hardest hitters in heavyweight history". He has been inducted into the International Boxing Hall of Fame and the World Boxing Hall of Fame!......plz rate n leave ur comments..

      No he didn’t. It’s the Emmitt Smith vs Barry Sanders effect. The guy who technically won only won on a technicality. Nobody in the universe watches that fight and says that was Iron Mike in that ring. Even the ones who wanna say it can really say it with any conviction.

    • @jettz8571
      @jettz8571 Před 8 lety +7

      +billy giles age doesnt matter. We are speaking about a guy who was under drugs, without good trainers since 1992 and with immense troubles in his life. Look his fights against Berbick, Tucker, Holmes, Tillman or Briggs. Next look his fights against Holyfield, Savarese or Lewis. Two competely different kind of fighters.
      The first one was a swarmer-infighter. The second one just a brawler.
      At the end it's also true that styles make the fight but also the careers. All infighters (people like Amstrong, Grebb, Dempsey, Frazier, Marciano, Tua, Tyson or Graziano) had short-impressive- spectacular careers. But cause of the intensity required from this style (you have to be really intense, move your head-body all times) you lost all the times on the ring something that won't came back anymore.
      Boxers or defensive fighters (Ali, Holmes, Klitschkos, Lewis, Moore or Floyd Jr) had longest careers cause they dont have to use 100% of their atletical skills everyminute of everyround.

      Karlos Deadloss Lennox was a better boxeer than Tucker, Smith, Green in all the aspects with one expection: the chin. This is why many people (me either) think about it. Lennox had great problems against Bruno, Mercer, Rahaman, McCall...against the true Iron Mike? no question. But at the end they belong different ages of boxing. Mike was last 80's and early 90's. Lennox last 90's and early 2000's. They should never fight against with each two at their prime

    In reality Lewis fought Tyson and he won. Lewis fought Klitchko and he won. Woulda Coulda Mighta Beens are a waste of time. Tyson was still a boxer when the fight happened. It was later that he only showed for the money. If Tyson wasn't as good as he had been, then neither was Lewis. And Tyson had the opportunities to keep his fitness and edge - he chose not to. That makes him less of a fighter.

    Tyson fans are such an annoying, clueless bunch, it's so frustrating to see the nonsense they put out. Shows you how easily people are manipulated by the media.
    Tyson at his absolute greatest wouldn't be able to put away Lewis easily. That is a fact to anyone even remotely educated about boxing. He might have beaten him, but Lennox would have had the same, if not better chances.
    Tyson had an amazing streak against mediocre opposition and washed-up greats, in what was possibly the worst heavyweight division ever. That's it. Fighters like Mitch Green, James Smith and James Tillis went the distance with him back in the 80's. Tillis even won 3 out of 10 rounds. What on EARTH makes you think Tyson would wreck Lennox when he had trouble against far inferior fighters?
    There's a reason why most serious boxing analysts and fans put Lennox fairly ahead of Tyson on their lists of all time greats. Because of an infinitely superior resume, with victories over actual big names like Holyfield and Vitali, as opposed to over-blown light-HW Michael Spinks and an old, way past his prime Larry Holmes, which are Tysons greatest wins to date.

    Lewis is British AND Canadian,yes Tyson was in prison for like 3 years and Lewis was relatively active during that time. Sort of like when they stripped the Greatest for not wanting to fight in Vietnam ( The Supreme Court judged in his favor 3 years later) Ali was in his absolute prime when he was banned from boxing and in his SECOND fight after getting reinstated he chooses to fight Smokin Joe Frazier. No bueno! Tyson aka Iron Mike fought Lewis in his 11th fight after getting out of prison. Considering that Lewis is a rarity (seemed to get BETTER WITH age) NO BUENO

    "Biggest fight in history." Tyson says that with so much self-conscious insincerity and irony, it's positively wicked. If you want to know what Tyson really thinks (or thought) about boxing history, see the excellent BBC documentary (c.1988) in which Tyson and Harry Carpenter review together many of the great heavyweight fights and fighters of yesteryear.

      James Crabbe Tyson was THE elite fighter of his time and a generation. Youngest man ever to unify the heavyweight crown & lineal champion in his prime. Lewis could have taken him on in '96/97 after Tyson won back the WBC & WBA titles. Instead he chose to dodge him until boxing became nothing but a means of paying off debt for Tyson. Even then, Eubank's comments on who the public were coming to see in this fight were a painful truth to those with 'Tyson Agendas'. History doesn't lie ... Iron Mike was and still IS the best boxer to grace the sport since Ali.

    • @bensillitoe
      @bensillitoe Před 7 lety

      Joey O'D I respect your opinion. It's a fact that when they were both in their prime, Tyson clearly achieved more. Without a shadow of doubt, Tyson was the most devastating and frightening fighter I've ever seen which is why I'd always back him. Lewis even said that he'd never have wanted to take Tyson on in his prime because "He's just an animal!".

    • @joeyod9429
      @joeyod9429 Před 7 lety

      Lewis never said that and its common knowledge that Don King paid Lewis to not fight Tyson earlier in there careers. Only thing Tyson achieved that Lewis didn't was he won the titles younger. Just because you peak earlier doesn't mean you were better in your prime. Then look at the amount of quality of opponents Lewis beat and look at Tysons. No question that Lewis has a lot more quality victories. Its a toss up

You can say Lewis...but I'll have a hard time believing it.

      They "sparred" a few times when they were teenagers. How the hell does that translate to Lewis knowing his style. Lewis knew his style through studying his fights just like everyone else that fought Tyson. Tyson was mentally and physically a shell of himself by the time he fought Lewis. If you think Lewis could've taken on Tyson 1985 - 1990, you know shit.

      love evol Tyson didn't duck Lewis. Don King offered Lewis $13 million to face Tyson in November 1996 and Lewis turned him down. So Lewis, like he did before with Bowe, took King to court where King paid Lewis $4 million for court fees, not step aside money. King used the rest of the cash, $9 million, to pay a fighter who wanted to take Tyson's title in the ring, Evander Holyfield.

    • @rufuszufall5753

      love evol what the hell?this was exposed lomg time ago as a Con style acompliment by Lewises team.Lewis didn't want no part of Bruno.Afterall , he barley escaped ween they fought whit a semi lucky punch.Lewis was all over the ring against Bruno.Behind on pointy by 5 rounds.So he let Tyson take care of Bruno.
      But Here is what happened.Don King offered Lewis 10mil to fight Tyson in October of 96.Lewises team declined.So a deal was signed to fight Evander.And Evander always wanted to face Tyson.He knew that Tyson was no longer the same technical fighter as he was before prison.Look on CZcams!
      Once the Contract was singed Lewis and his team suddenly jump in . Can't doo that once the contract was singed.But Don had Prof that he offered Lewis 10mil to fight Tyson.And thats why the fight didnt happen earlier.
      Also before Tyson fought Golota.Tyson announced his retirement.He said this fight and i, m done.They asked him so no Lewis.He answered that he no longer had the desire to fight for Championship.Only money.
      But then some good money was offered to him.More than Lewis was geting as a Champion.And he fought few more fights and the fight whit Lewis.
      Its all well documented.One can find all those facts on youtube.
      As for who would win in their best?Tyson 87-88 vs Lewis 97-98.There is no doubt that a hungry Tyson would take Lewis inside 5 rounds. No lomger than 5.Enough said.
