    I’m another user that excitedly bought this keyboard for the custom vocal feature. I’ve had the keyboard for a week now and have been unable to use it. Hunted down this obscure micro-b cable (and yes, I made sure it was a synch cable and not a charge cable), waited 3 days and still no connectivity. It would be so cool if Casio actually made the required cable (or god forbid include it with this $500 keyboard) so we aren’t having to hunt this obscure cable down. I guess In another week or so I’ll know if I can use this heavily advertised feature, but my wife is already telling me to return this stupid thing. We will see which happens first. This is mind blowing.

    How difficult, if possible, to do a whole song? As someone who cannot sing, this may be right up my alley

      It's easy! Lyric Creator has a "Sequence" function that lets you make a list of multiple lyrics, all of which can be transferred to the keyboard and played one after another. You can also use a pedal to move backwards or forwards in the list, in case you end up playing a lyric at the incorrect time.

      @Casio Music Gear thank you for replying. It is next on my list to purchase. My only concern now is the technology doesn't work well with Android phones according to the research i've been doing. But does excellent with Apple.

    I've tried to make my own voice/"vocalist", which was unsuccessful. Uploading a female voice mono 16bit 44.1khz wav file. First tried a single waveform, thinking it would be looped like in a oscillator. But nope, no luck there. The animal voice preset hinted towards the cts1000v using longer samples, up to 10 seconds worth of sample according to the manual. Which kind of confused me. So I took my single pulse waveform and sampled 10 seconds of that running on my DAW (renoise), just to find out that the keyboard runs any user made vocalist wav file through a heavy cutoff lowpass filter in the vocal synthesis. Which understandably sounds muffled and bad.
    What frequency is best? For the waveform in the wavefile to avoid loosing the top end completely?
    I'm a big fan of vocal synthesis, especially the early TTS ones from the 70's & 80's like DECTalk.
    My plans of making a soft, eyewatering love ballad with the voices of the speak&spell, Stephen Hawking and other beloved TTS voices of my childhood may be out of reach still.
    Will there be added voices from Casio, or a fix to the whole custom voices cutoff problem? Perhaps a better UI which lets us play with the oscillator waveforms (sine/saw/pulse/triangle) and white/pink noise?
    I already own a vocoder, so there's no point in having a text to speech capable instrument for me if it can only sound like a generic vocoder.
    I'm eagerly awaiting firmware updates and app update.

    The ONLY way to establish a connection for this feature to work is to have a USB-B Micro to USB-C cable, which I bought specifically for this purpose, and it won't work. The bluetooth is well documented as not working with this app, and it doesn't even connect to a windows computer so the idea of having "wireless midi" is useless if you're trying to get a DAW to recognize your keystrokes.
    Overall a really cool product, but I'm very disappointed with the I/O and user experience at launch. This needs some fast firmware/software updates before my 30-day return windows runs out, cause as fun as this is, if I can't add my own lyrics it's useless. Even if it did work, having to switch out an archaic USB-B Micro port to go from a tablet to insert lyrics, to a different cable connected to my computer to record midi in my DAW, is just brutally bad. This can't have been the initial design right?
    In the meantime, I can't even try out the new lyrics function, I never see the "4 orange dots", I just get prompts to the connection guide when trying to initiate a transfer. Tried on two android devices, one being a recent new Pixel (official android). So I guess I'm just stuck with "can you hear the music" lol.

      Sorry for the inconvenience. Some cables only provide charging capability. It sounds like you may have bought one of those instead of one that can also transfer data. When buying a cable, make sure you see "data" or "sync" in the specifications.
      Regarding Bluetooth MIDI and Windows, many users have had success using a combination of the MIDIberry and LoopMIDI apps.

    • @Standard.Candle
      @Standard.Candle Před 2 lety

      @@casiomusicgear Thank you for the response, I did change the cable and it did work. That being said, The fact that the bluetooth midi doesn't work on Windows is a big negative, so I have to switch the obsolete USB micro-B cable on the back every time I want to switch between adding a lyric, or the midi appearing in my DAW. Why didn't you ship with the industry-standard USB-B like every other piece of music gear? And will the bluetooth dongle ever be patched to work with Windows? Right now it only does bluetooth midi to my phone, and even then I can't use it with the lyric editor.

      I agree. Just hunted down this obscure cable, paid $30 for it from a third party and no connectivity. This is pathetic. Pathetic they couldn’t include the cord (or even better, not use an obsolete cable type) to use the feature Casio advertises most prominently. Watching this “simple” video just makes me furious. If I figure out how to connect my device I’m soooo gonna make a custom song for Casio. 😂

    This doesn't seem to work with Android? I have bought a special cable (see problem below). I can see the lyrics in the app, so I have a connection between the app and the keyboard. Every time I hit "transfer" in the app, the keyboard goes "processing" in the display. And then nothing happens until the phoneapp complains "check the connection". I love this idea of vocal synth, that's why I bought it. There is no other way to input phrases. So I'm stuck and disappointed.

    • @casiomusicgear
      @casiomusicgear  Před 2 lety

      Sorry to hear you're having trouble. When you connect the cable and open the app, you should see "CT-S1000V Connected". If you don't see this, or if you see "CASIO USB-MIDI Connected" instead, the transfer will likely not work correctly. In nearly all situations like this, the solution is to try a different cable that supports data connection as well as charging.

    • @hakanl8645
      @hakanl8645 Před 2 lety

      @@casiomusicgear Thanks for the answer. The app says ”connected” during starting up. Will try another cable. It is during transfer I get the problem. Will try a bit more, otherwise contact your support. I was a but curious if someone else got it up and working.
      Someone asked if this synth is a toy. Is a vocoder a toy? It depends on the user. It’s good value for money. And I hope to get the lyrics app working soon.

      Lyric tones 0-127 (100 preset tones and first 27 user tones) can be selected with bank messages MSB 108 / LSB 0 and program changes 0-127.
      The remaining user Lyric Tones are selected with bank messages MSB 108 / LSB 1 and program changes 0-21.

    hello, I also bought this Casio a really nice instrument, I already have my first registration in bank 1 ... only I don't understand how I can put a registration directly on my usb drive. I did format my usb and then put a registration on bank 1 by media as I have the keyboard at the moment... Only the registration name is saved except for the setting itself what am I doing wrong?

    • @casiomusicgear
      @casiomusicgear  Před 2 lety

      One possibility is that you didn't select the right registration bank while saving. After selecting MEDIA > SAVE > REG BANK, you'll see "Registration bank area" on the display. Before pressing SELECT, use either the +/- buttons or the dial to choose which of the 16 banks you want to save.

I have format in the casio self and than use media ,registration bank and select etc... what could be the problems? Can I also reset the casio?
