Probably comparable to a modern engine. The DSC 11 was also one of the first truck engines to use turbo-compounding, I believe. Do you know what internal modifications were made to the marine versions? (Different pistons or crankshaft?)
Yes you are knowing much from Scania I have drived several and had own 4 pieces. I had 1977 111 and even Scania garage was not knowing if that have oil cooled pstons or not. because it must need when pushed more pover, 400hp could get DS 11 from LB 111 engine get out. I have that Scania still but very bad shape, maybe one day can make allright again. 113 and all 3 serie was best scania ever. 11 liter engine was very reliable, weakest point water pump and generator. from 360 113 was pushed out 450 hp was driving with that truck over 1,5 milion km. Then had 4 serie 12 liter six 420 there was pushed out 580 hp with bigger turbo and new engine program. was also quite good but not so reliable like 3 serie. Now have R 420 get out something 500 hp, most unreliable Scania what I have ever had. Much electrical problems, mostly cabel. Brake valves etc + majot engine problems no 2 broken piston and cylinder pipe. And on 76 and 110 had much more things what was different parking brake was on 76 mechanical and 110 with spring cylinder and opened with air. gearboxes 5 and 2 so two stick in 76 and 110 10 or 5 and half gears, also drive axles was changed. I am not sure could also first 110's have wood framed cabin or was 76 last with it?Burt Reynolds

Inte ens hammaren får plats innanför kanterna. Ser ut som att den drar något jättetungt för den icke insatta. Sen är det ju inte jättevanligt att komma med något från 70-talet när man endast ser 5-10år gamla lastbilar dagligen.

And of course ,related laws of the EC, force costumers to change vehicles every 10 years.
