24 HRS WITHOUT MY 7 KIDS IN 7 YEARS

Sometimes I just want to hear nothing. No kids screaming, no husbands inquiring, not even a baby breathing. The Bible talks about being quiet so we can hear from God but how can I do that when all I hear all day is noise? Even after the kids are in school, my phone, the internet and social media brings its very loud outside voice into my home. So I devoted 24 hrs to get away, to think out my own thoughts, hear inside my own head and hopefully stay quiet long enough for God to reveal something to me that I’ve been too spiritually death to hear.
Well He did! He revealed to me He takes care of us SO that we can take care of others. He is our ultimate “self-care”! We learn from our parents, from how they raised us, standards on how to take care of ourselves or not take care of ourselves. Self-care is important not just for us to feel good but for us to be able to function and take care of the purpose God has created us for, whether that be mothers, wives, business owners , caretakers, AND educators. Notice that I say “and” because we women have a very special place in this world as multitasking nurtures and we can learn how to fulfill that position best by first allowing ourselves to be taken care of by our Heavenly Father. Allow time and space for Him to talk to us through reading your bible and meditate on those verses where He promises us and reassures us that we don’t need to worry about anything and that everything will work itself out.
To help center myself and stay present in the current moment, I gravitate towards scents from essential oils and candles. To me, smelling is an intimate experience. No one can smell the same thing the same way, so everyone smells differently. Also for me, when I smell something powerful, it helps me focus on my present moment which allows me to be in position to what God is speaking to me in that moment.
