    Seriously went mad looking for which smoke alarm was beeping in my place. That was annoying, but great content! Bottled nuka-cola is always great.

    Can confirm, the difference in the ratio is the lack of artificial / modern sweeteners. When you make soda the old school way it definitely needs more syrup. ❤ Great video!

    I love that you combined both bottle designs by gluing plastic fins onto a coke bottle its great xD

    The reason it takes 5-7Tbsp is because the syrup you use for the Soda Stream has been boiled down to just that. A syrup. If you boil the Nuka Cola syrup down you can get the same result. It might be an idea to try. I'd love to know what you find if you do it. You seem like a natural at doing recipes. I think if you concentrated on that with the pop culture twist, you might have a great prosperous channel.

    Check out the cinnamon at the Indian markets .....the spices in general are way higher quality than a grocery store and often very cheap in comparison.
    Cost fortune for a couple stale fake cinnamon sticks in glass jar

      @Dungeons.and.Chickens  Před 22 dny

      I noticed the spices I bought locally vs the ones bought from mainstream grocery stores tasted way better! I’ll have to check out the cinnamon! I love a strong cinnamon taste, and you are right about the sticks seeming stale. Thanks for the advice, and thanks for watching!!!

      @@Dungeons.and.Chickens the sticks at the store are cassia which is arguably faux cinnamon or not a true cinnamon according to some....there are 3 or 4 different trees produce a product hey call cinnamon.The heavy rugged darker looking stuff is usually the primo stuff.Often they have a couple types at Indian markets

      I recently found out that cassia contains some naturally toxic chemicals. Only Ceylon cinnamon for me from now on. Plus, it tastes like cinnamon, not just in the neighborhood

    ive made Nuka Cola from this book a few times. i always feel like it could use more citrus juice. still like it and now i want to try to make this using a ginger bug to get a natural fermented Nuka Cola

    • @Dungeons.and.Chickens
      @Dungeons.and.Chickens  Před měsícem

      That’s a really good idea - I’m curious how that would taste! You’re definitely right, however, it needs more citrus; especially for a drink that’s technically supposed to be made up of 17 different fruits! I think there is a lot of room for improvement with the recipe that’s in the book. Thanks for watching!

    As a child of the '60s, a real child (born in '57) I can tell you that traditionally, pop is made of corn syrup. I remember when they were ten to 11 cents. I can understand why you found that too sugary. Today's sweet grocery products are bland. I eat very little. Your video made me realize that too many of your generation don't know what homemade pie made from scratch. That makes me sad.
    Find a recipe online from the 50's that doesn't use cake mix or pie using fruit that's not from a can. Taste the difference from store brought. 😀

    For those people not able to find coriander seed, it's also called Cilantro.

    • @Dungeons.and.Chickens
      @Dungeons.and.Chickens  Před 23 dny +2

      Yes! 🙂 But be careful eating anything labeled ‘cilantro seed’! I found, at least in my area, that that term is usually used for planting rather than eating, and the seeds can be treated with a chemical that isn’t safe for consumption!

    • @Plasmastorm73_n5evv
      @Plasmastorm73_n5evv Před 22 dny +1

      @@Dungeons.and.Chickens Cilantro and cilantro seed are different beasts. Cilantro (culinary version) comes in spice jars and pouches, cilantro seeds come in seed packets.

    • @godbelow
      @godbelow Před 19 dny +1

      Wrong. Cilantro is the leafy green stuff that grows from the coriander(seed). One is an herb, the other is a spice.

    • @VictorTyne
      @VictorTyne Před 19 dny

      That is... completely wrong. In the US, 'coriander' refers to the seed and 'cilantro' refers to the leaf of the plant. Outside the US, both are just called 'coriander'.

      @Rangersly My father taught me to distinguish licorice from anise at arm's length, because he didn't want anise anywhere around. I dislike anise, too. *But* star anise is not that anise. It's yet another deluded misnomer, like mountain apples aren't apples, and neither are pineapples. Look at what she throws in the pot. That's no part of an anise plant. They are only dimly alike in taste. I throw it in tea all the time. Give it a go!
