  • Whether you're considering a career in real estate or just curious about the field, this video will offer a balanced perspective on being a leasing agent, so you can make an informed decision. Let's dive right in, shall we? #leasingagent #howto
    [PART 1: PROS]
    1. Flexibility - As a leasing agent, you have the freedom to set your own schedule. Late night owl or early morning riser? You can tailor your working hours accordingly.
    2. Earning Potential - Leasing agents earn primarily through commissions. So the more properties you lease, the higher your income.
    3. Networking - Working in this field allows you to meet and interact with a diverse range of people, which can open doors to future opportunities.
    4. Job Satisfaction - Helping someone find their perfect home or office space can be very fulfilling, giving you a sense of accomplishment.
    5. Continuous Learning - The real estate market is ever-changing. As a leasing agent, you'll constantly be learning new things about the industry, property values, market trends, and more."
    [PART 2: CONS]
    1. Income Instability - Since your earnings are commission-based, there might be periods where you make less money, especially during market downturns.
    2. Weekend and Evening Work - Prospective renters often want to see properties outside of typical working hours, meaning you might find yourself working on weekends and evenings.
    3. High Stress - Meeting sales targets, dealing with difficult clients, and managing multiple leases can be stressful.
    4. Competition - The real estate market is highly competitive. You'll constantly need to stay ahead of market trends and other agents to succeed.
    5. Legal complexities - Real estate involves a lot of legal work. As a leasing agent, you'll need to be well-versed with leasing laws and regulations."

It can honestly be a much easier job if management didn’t stress cyclical things, like trend. We all Know that there’s always a slow point in the year.

Hi! I really enjoyed your video...I'm currently a teacher's assistant and have a second job working as an after school advisor. I want to transition into the leasing field. My biggest question is can you truly afford to live off the salary/ commissions? I understand that there are many factors that play into this question, so what I really want to know is do leasing agents usually work or have to work a second job? #newsubscriber

if u work for luxury no. ( because rent is high ) if u work for a regular apartment with around 300 units yes. ( bc rent is priced normal ) I definitely had a 2nd job for the winter because those are slow months , but I used those months to my advantage. it’s a temporary job lease for 2 yrs & move up 🥹 plus companies give their agents a discount if u choose to rent with the company , so it’s possible but I wouldn’t suggest it starting out
