For all who are wondering, Ryan Burt left the band a while ago due to Mental Health reasons, the new, touring drummer in this video is Casey McHale, who is the drum tech for Amity

I remember Joe Arrington saying he was gonna play with a band on Warped, and then he toured with TAA for a minute. Always thought he was gonna be with these dudes for a bit longer! This guy kills it though, no doubt it; fills are solid af!

Ryan was the longtime drummer for The Amity Affliction. He hadn't played with them on tour since late 2016 or early 2017, and he officially left the band back in February. Sad day.

I know nothing about drums and I wanna learn pretty soon here...I love the way this kit sounds. Anyone got any advice? (Btw where should I look to get a kit that sounds this nice?)
you're gonna be spending well over 1000-1500 for a mid tier kit, with higher range kits going higher, dont splurge straight away, learn the basics, buy yourelf a used banger so if you do give up you havent wasted money
My advice is not to worry about the tone of the kit when you start. A lot of people lash out for a good kit, and don't stick with drums long enough to make use of a high quality one anyway. You can have a lot of fun on one that sounds shithouse too
You can get a new good sounding kit for 800-1000⏠in Europe. Or if you look second hand, you can get really good deals. Got myself a good sounding set of shells for 150⏠last year. I assume it's the same wherever you are. Don't splash out on shells, make sure at least half of your budget goes towards cymbals. Bad shells can sound good if you get nice skins and tune them well, but you can't improve the sound of cymbals unfortunately.
Get something used. To make sure you stay with it, but also to learn your sound preferences
â@@BrandonjSlippingAwayyesss you are right. Besides that, good playing, decent head and good tuning counts more than the drum itself. The "self mix" that a drummer should learn, how to proper play and balane the diferent pieces of the drum.

This guy has the talent and skill, just needs more excitement. Could easily use another Monster or two, but excellent drumming! It's like listening to the original track but with a little twist.
I'm not complaining here about his lack of excitement. Personally, I'd be a lot like him if I ever played on a stage. It takes a lot to come out of your shell and get into the groove of things, and playing live is very different from playing studio/being tech. You could be less mechanically (drumming) inclined but be more exciting and be better than a more experienced and technically/mechanically strong drummer but be on the less exciting side and be boring.

Tbh I'd think Casey would be a way better replacement for Ryan than Joe is now. His style feels more fluid and less forced than Joe.

Out of all the drum cam video's this guy has posted this drummer is the least engaging, he's good but lacks the look of interest like he is preoccupied wondering if the paint in his new knitting room has dried yet.
Brandon Perry He's the drum tech for the band I'm pretty sure and is just standing in. He may not Have performance experience, or he may just not be invested in the bands music as much as other drummers are. Idk. Just thinking.

hes also a session drummer, its his job to play the part well and thats it, he could play with a different band every week, as long as he knows his shit, thats the most of his concerns

Wish Ryan was still in TAA but this guy here in this video was the closest person to drumming like Ryan. The guy they decided to go with is good but it bothers me so much that he plays Pittsburgh the wrong way. I much rather have this guy in the video than have the guy they have now but thatâs just my opinion.
