what a voice, never seen such a talented musician, producer......he really lives music with passion
At Toddstock East in 2018, I asked Michele if she would teach us the background singers' choreography and she said yes!! So in a room FULL of novice dancers, but avid Todd fans, we stumbled our way through the moves. Yet, when they played Secret Society on their most recent "tour" in 2021, I remembered every bit of that choreography that a very generous-spirited Michele taught us, as I jumped up and executed it faithfully in her honor. Thank you, Mrs. R, for being a huge part of the success of that hot, rainy, stormy, marvelous birthday celebration week.

If I wasn't so conditioned into believing this world's "logic", I'd think these 2 songs were not only written for me but put together in this video for me... to help me remember a very significant time in my life... something I can't understand why/how I possibly could have forgotten. I imagine I'm not the only one who's struck so personally by Todd's music... but man, it gets awfully "mystical" at times and I'm not convinced that there isn't something more to it ;-)

I have a really hard time listening to Todd’s music. My first and true love was a big Todd fan, and I was a budding alcoholic. She’s gone and so is the booze, but Rungrens music is a love/ hate thing for me. I love the music but my broken heart can’t stand it. I’m sitting here with tears running down my face, beating myself for my failures and missing the girl I gave my heart to so long ago as I torture myself by playing some of the best music I ever hated.

Brilliant todd great artist and musician great vocals show man all round entertainer great band as usual been around years still turning out great songs 👍

Oh how I have to agree ChicagoJan. Couldn't be more stuck personally by Todd\'s music, my spirit is in heaven on earth whenever i am in the Utopia of Todd's writing and performing!!!!
Thanks for posting this...I have it in VHS somewhere....I saw this show at the Galaxy Theater in Anaheim CA in '90....great show just like the video.

Great job on the mix, sound of music, and vocals. The Video quality is the BEST, I've seen so far. From a BIG Todd Fan. Love the reality that sounds like fantasy! Anyone can relate to the phrasing of his music and lyrics emotionally. Todd brings out emotion with his lyrics.
Seen Todd, so many times over years. Who, was at the Tower in Philly on New Years Eve, in early 80's? Changed my life forever, Love is the Answer, for 45 mins. Radio City, was unreal. And Utopia, does not get much tighter than they were. LFDH eps with Todd are excellent

This is by far my favorite of Todd's concert videos: excellent material, a**-kickin' band (including the hot and amazing back-up singers and the Bourgeois Tagg guys), over-the-top production values, etc. He's is great form vocally and full of energy, and the whole band seems to be having a great time. I wish I had been there!

Jan,I just want to let you know you're not alone in suspecting there's more to Todd's connection to his fans than meets the eye. I think if you "get" the song, then it WAS, in a sense. written for you. He seems to write and perform from a place deep within himself, and he expresses his feelings and thoughts about the human condition in a way that seems to invite us to be as authentic as he is. I think the song "Stand for Something" is also about this. Thanks for sharing!

I have the studio version of "Secret Society" on a 2-CD set called "Oblivion, POV, & Some Trivia," which I think (and hope!) is still in print. The song is on the second disc. The studio version is great, and I love Kasim's bass playing in general, but I have to admit I like the way Larry Tagg spices up the bass part in this live version. Best of luck with your search!

I have 3 versions of this song and the live version posted above is my favorite version. You can buy the cd from this show online. The other version that I have is from POV and then from the Second Wind tour. If you really want to hear the POV version you can hear on sample from amazon.
