Moonstone is one of my favorites. I have never seen it raw though. It's so PRETTY.

I really like raw stones and gems. I do see the appeal for smoothed/polished stones though.

Are you sure all of those are Moonstone? Some look more like white Labradorite.

Actually after doing some research, I’m not sure. I bought them as moonstone and they definitely had a distinctive white shimmer to them that I’ve never seen on labradorite, but a few did have black specks so maybe it could be white labradorite? They only flashed bright blue, though, no other colors. Maybe a rock-xpert can let us know what they think. I’m definitely curious now!

@@moonriserocksmoonstone can have the same inclusions (black mineralizations) as labradorite and are known to also have a very pretty light blue flash, further confusing them with labradorite

Isn’t labradorite also called “rainbow moonstone”?

@@Amethyst_Annie yeah, white labradorite is, because it's mistaken for moonstone and all that.

Im just starting rock tumbling and for my birthday, my beastie got me moonstones to work with! One question I have is, what speed do you often leave them on?

That's so weird. Here is Aus, I've only ever seen "stones" labled as moonstone that are just black sunstone glass
