He had a black man that killed it on the drums playing and after a few songs he says" I wanna introduce my son" and this 15yr old kid comes out on stage with him. At the time he looked in his 70's from his lifestyle and outlaw ways I reckon. But when he played, man, you knew it was his voice! wasn't no electronics diverting or changing anything it was all The Man, it was all Mr. DAC in the flesh!! I was just blown away I knew almost all his songs by heart, even some of the "original outlaw " songs he did back before I'd ever know his name or song!! Great memory I'll always remember....

I saw David Allen COE at the Ken Lance ballroom just outside of Ada Oklahoma,he was wild looking,but he could sing and write great songs.About half way through the show) this was no giant stadium just and old country dance hall right next to the Rodeo arena) some drunk guy come running through the dance floor,jumped up on a table right in front of the stage,took one step on the stage and David Allen COE started beating the crap out of him,then his band members jumped in beat on him a bit then threw him off the stage to some waiting bouncers who then took him out back through a door right by our seats,and then the bouncers beat the crap out of him.All this happened in just seconds,them the bouncers came over to my table and apologized for the interruption.
