ISLAND HOPPING In Maldives (Thoddoo - Male - Dhiffushi Islands) 2022

- I had recently come to the Maldives and visited the island of Male and Hulumale, then took the boat to Guraidhoo and Thoddoo, but my trip would continue today out to anothe rhotel on an island called Dhiffushi Located about 45min from Male. After the Maldives I will be going to india and continue my travels there! But first a few more videos from the maldives.

I recognize this place even with "my" heron sitting at the spectacular pier, small sharks “floating in the air” in turquoise clear water and wonderful sunsets with huge dynamic changes in the sky, besides, the beach was excellent, all was as unreal as in a fairy tale. Shortly before covid.

I visited the Maldives just before Covid hit. It was very worrying, that the shut down would wreck havoc on this nation even more than most places, given their isolation, need for tourism economically, and dependence on importing almost everything. Glad to see them coming out the other side still intact and emerging stronger than ever. It is startling to realize that the entire international tourism industry and infrastructure on local islands is less than ten years old. Prior to that only foreign operated resort islands existed for the most part. Of course, traditions and welcoming folks from all over is not without challenges. It seems though that they are navigating these shoals. Encourage anyone to visit whether at the expensive private resorts or more economically on the local islands.

Just got back from Dhiffushi last saturday. Stayed at Portia Hotel for a week. It was awesome. And the place you stayed at was my spot to watch the sunset every evening. Hope you enjoyed it as well

There is a very nice shop called WHIM on Dhiffushi Island. You can get snacks and everything. Also, there are some good restaurants on that Island.

After a day at work at an office with meetings all day that were very stressful, this video was just what l needed! Reminds me that life is short and we should take advantage of opportunities to explore what the world has to offer. Looks like you have figured that out William. Thank you again for another video of a beautiful country that I would probably have never looked into.
William is you ever get back to Costa Rica come stay with us and will do some travelling around together, We had hoped to visit the east last year, but sadly did not happen with Covid and the borders were still shut. We are now in the middle of building new rental Casitas and a pool here in Costa Rice but we really hope to get out to travel out east in 2023.
