Came for the camper, stayed for the squirrel.
What ever you do. Don't ever let Jen go.
She's gold bro.
Well done.
Great job with the video, babe! I never expected to put so much time and work into the camper, but I’d say it was worth it. Can’t wait to use it again with you.
Thanks baby! Couldn't have done it without all your hard work and great ideas. Let's take her on another excursion soon.
@@NoNonsenseKnowHow
Just so you know, your life is most guys life goal! Just subbed to your channel.
Awesome job guys 👍👍
"I'm hungry!" 😆
You got great voice Jen
That’s a nice video. Good job fixing up that camper.
Thanks dude. She's a solid little unit now. We should do a trip out to Moab sometime. You would love it out there.
Some day.
Love your videos man 👍
You guys are so awesome. Not many people, in fact very few will do what you did for that baby squirrel. In the camper, all the work you did and it is great also. I can’t say enough about your videos!
I seriously thought you were going to say ehhh they will be cat food when I saw the squirrel...but you were cool with it and totally took care of it. way to go 👍👍
Great video. You two guys have my total respect and admiration for helping that squirrel get a helping hand in life.
Clapper campers were actually built about 3 miles from my house. It was 3 brothers that actually worked in the construction trades and they all enjoyed camping so they started their own line of campers. My dad bought the 3rd camper off their assembly line in 1963. It was a 15’ camper and it was camped in all over the east coast until he upgraded to a bigger trailer in 1973. Clapper Brothers actually opened their own campground in 1967 in Ebensburg Pa called Woodland Park Campground and my family camped there for years until my father passed in 1985. My wife and I camp there now in a site directly behind my dads old site even though the campground is owned by a new family now. Great job on the job of fixing your camper up.
The three brothers were Paul, Marion and Pete. They were my great uncles. I actually visited the campground just before it was officially opened. Thanks for the information you posted, I wasn't exactly sure when they started the camper business.
@@rodneterer3403 they were all great families. Really ran a nice campground. The campground has gone so far downhill now compared to when they owned it and ran it. I actually think they would be sick if they saw what it’s like now.
I love the fact you took something that was disposed and made it useful again… awesome.
cool you guys helped that squirrel
What a great job you two did on this camper...I wouldn't have given this thing a second look, but you two have turned a dumpster fire into a beautiful classic camper! You've got a pet squirrel and a grumpy cat, Well done folks and with the addition of the beautiful scenerey at the end, was the cherry on top of a world class video! Thank you!
Thanks Scott!
Camper renovation, squirrel saving and spouse banter! This had it all!
Thank you NoNonsenseKnowHow!!
You two are living the best life. How encouraging to watch how hard you work for the things you want. And then to watch you camping, the views are incredible. What a great channel. I love the camper.
Camper is fantastic. You guys did a great job!! Color is spot on
Thank you man
You are a very lucky man you have everything in life that I wish I did including an amazing wife. Never take it for granted. I did and lost it all.
So that's how Leo came to be part of the family. Really enjoy your videos.
All I have to say is that Chris and Jen are a All Terrain 4x4 Couple, Congratulations!!
Clapper Campers were built by the Clapper family in RD Claysburg, PA (almost to Blue Knob) well built for the era. Basically built one or two at a time. They probably build their last ones in the mid to late 1970's. Gas crisis of the early '70's and then later '70's really slowed down the pickup camper business. Nice to see one stiil out the.
Awesome, thanks for the info! Is the family still around or building anything still?
Actually, their factory was in Duncansville right behind where Tractor supply and Park Home is today. Our family knew them well and my dad actually bought the third camper off their assembly line in 1963. There was a small company consisting of a few friends that built a few campers in the claysburg area that called theirs Smokey Run Campers. They were a group of guys that worked together at champion Homes building mobile homes that decided to build a few campers in their spare time.
@@NoNonsenseKnowHow unfortunately the three brothers that built the campers have all passed away over the past several years. The brothers names were Raymond “Pete”, Marion, and Paul.
Nice dude, love me some little squirrel rescue too. The amount of time and energy and know how to do stuff like this and then put together a sweet video, thanks guys.👍
Wow, I would never imagine doing a restoration on something with that kind of damage. Excellent work. Your wife is a very talented lady.
Chris, I finally had the chance to see some of your older videos. Both you and Jen did exemplary detail work to that camper, and now I know how Leo came into your lives! Compliments to Turbo for his patience with the young Leo, as I am not sure my cats would be so gracious.
As always, looking forward to more of your videos :)
I never knew Leo's backstory... great rescue! Camper looks great.
Yes! A new video! And 30 min! Can’t wait till tonite to cast this to my TV on my recliner! Keep making the videos man! From your neighbor in MontCo.
Can't thank you enough for your support dude! I really appreciate it
Leo is so adorable... Thankyou for including him in your video.
Hello. You guys have some serious skills, y'all rocked that camper! But, I Love Little Leo, and the compassion and care you took caring for him!!! Terrific job all around!!! Thanks for sharing.
The animal interludes are wonderful!
So glad I watched this. I now know the story about Leo. You two are so caring and lovely. You belong together forever 👍👍
I got a piece of metal in my eye, I had to drive from cape cod to NYC in agony 😂 . So cool you rescued those squirrels 😊

The camper turned out beautiful!... Little Leo is so cute!
Clapper campers were made in Duncanville, PA my grandfather bought on new and when he past it was given to me. If it has the original fridge it is alcohol for refrigerate when using propane
Oh yea, and Leo’s the coolest channel mascot ever. How cute are those little white tufts behind his ears! You guys are all around awesome!
Much love and respect to y'all. Squirrel 🐿️ rescue changed the whole deal
You guys did an amazing job on the Clapper! Talk about talent!
Thanks David!
Amazing restoration guys. And keep on camping
Thank you! Will do!
NICE!!!!!!!! Leo is awesome as well!
Nicely done.
Thanks!
Looks great thx sharing/ love those old campers
This is great. I fixed up a truck camper like this from 1973. It's my house now lol, yours was a lot nicer inside, I had to paint all the wood in mine.
It’s great that you kept with the original character…gorgeous🥰❤️
Good hard work. The camper looks brand new. Well done you two. Nice Job.
Awesome content.
Cool camper.
Cool squirrel.
Jen did great 🤘
I have been watching your videos over the last few weeks and you and your partner make very interesting video's. You over there in America are so fortunate to live in such a wonderful and varied country ski in the morning sunbathing in the afternoon 👌also your heritage of motor car ! Sorry autos. Is so interesting . Keep up the good work Buddy or in English mate.
Wow what a great job on the camper. I would have never thought at the beginning it could be so awesome.
Looks awesome. Nothing like bringing something back to life.
Love the wifes crazy enthusiasm for CZcams! Lol
I like it. Nice to see these old campers get a second life. So much more charm and personality to these vintage rigs and not like all the other cookie cutter campers on the market.
Love your videos ! you two are a great Team (and Gus) kind of you to try to rescue the squirrel family
Wow hard work but it definitely paid off. Love the fact your wife helps with your DIY projects. Best regards!
Nice job on camper cool where you found squirrel
Thanks. And yeah glad we found them before dropping the camper off. Because they crushed the thing that same day with an excavator
God bless old campers! After 63 years living in one house or another I just spent the Arizona desert Summer living in a 1987 30' Fleetwood Avion. This was a "sea trial" to see how it would go, and I can now report it went well! The old Avion is so well insulated that, with the addition of a stand-alone LG dual-inverter AC unit, I kept the interior at 70F, even when it reached 115F outside! I still work via the internet but, with the Starlink satellite system, I have faster internet than I had in the city! If you are thinking of "going mobile," my best advice is do your homework! Watch videos like this one, learn about RVs, figure out which one is best for you. The reward is great people, immense desert vistas, peace and quiet and a night sky full of more stars than you ever thought possible! Oh, yeah - contrary to the conventional wisdom, I pull my Avion with a '98 Dodge Ram with the 3.9 V6. She ain't fast and I wouldn't try it with an automatic [she has a 5-speed manual], but the old girl has torque galore and this setup works just fine for my purposes.
Lol if Turbo sees Leo in the yard it's game over
Excellent job people
Classic
My beer is in there!!!
I took my kids and a couple of friends to Burney falls a few years ago there wasn't that much of a water flow but it was still very cool and beautiful. I have been wondering how good the flow is now thatvl we have had all the snow that we have had. Thanks for sharing this video with us Hannah. May you continue to have a good one. Have fun take care
Squirrels are awesome pets
I had some extra time I so decided to catch up on some of your videos. I am really glad that I clicked on this one, awesome job restoring the truck camper. You and Jen definitely made it your own. And now I know where Leo came from! I have to check out your other channel and still have a lot of catching up to do. Thumbs UP to you two!
Awesome, I appreciate you checking it out. Was a good amount of work, but it was overall a fun time doing it together with Jen. We have to do another long trip this coming spring in it. My other channel is pretty much random videos, some decent stuff on there but some junk also. Again, thank you for the support.
I like this better than newer campers renovating an old one myself
I watched this again and enjoyed the details of the Clapper resurrection! It was nice to see Leo again. Hope he's doing well.
What a great team! Such a smart guy with that stuff and a sweet pretty woman who doesn't try to hog the spotlight. Got the know how with the sweet little eye candy, perfect COMBO!! AND LEO... SO CUTE!! Great video!
I watched the whole video in real time. No fast forwarding lol. Great content. Old camper is super cool.
Damn, just seeing the preview I’m wondering if it would have been better just to build one by hand from scratch 😂😂. Damn, now I’m sucked in. Well, I have my lemonade…. It’s 0230 😂 time to watch lol….
Edit: OMG that squirrel!! I love this couple subbed!! I love the work they did and Leo 😂
Where is the squirrel......i think he is the star of your vlogs.....oh i had to add to my comment....Leo is the lone survivor......cool he pulled through..
Great fun tagging along with you guys! Nice refresh on the Vintage Camper. 👍👍👍
You and your wife make a pretty good pair working on something she she's got a quite a bit of talent also You squirt on those jacks those things aren't cheap It's kind of funny I used to have a 65 Chevy painted that color blue and white and I got a camper that was blue and white just like you painted yours brought back memories thanks for the videos
nice job, more of Jen singing please.
South of the Border T-Shirt???? That brings back memories of 50 years ago. Family driving to Florida from Canada and stopping at the site. Goodness!
Turned out awesome. So thats where Leo came from.
Love the camper.
Awesome work on the camper and even more spectacular seeing it and youtwo out on the road with it.
Well done. Especially with care for the squirrel. Leo is a fiesty fella.
That turned out awesome....love how you scored on the freebie camper for the exact parts you needed on the vintage unit.
Sweet squirrel !
Propane fridges are pretty much dinosaurs with efficient DC models available. I have been off grid for over 25 years and use electric fridge and freezers
It's nice having multiple options though. This one runs on DC as well. I wouldn't say it's efficient though.
Not only are you mechanically skilled, your also a good man, [from UK].
Jen is a real trooper!!!
That camper came out beautiful and well done five stars my friends
Definitely one of my fav episodes!
AWESOME CAMPER AND REPAIRS!!. ITS SUPER WITH THE UPGRADES AND PAINT, AND THE ROOF SEAL IS PERFECT, THE LIL LADY SURE MADE HER OWN TOUCH IN THE INTERIOR... WELL DONE.
My friend, before closing the new boards that you replaced at the campsite, it was necessary to treat them with a special composition against rot and then they will be enough for your children and grandchildren! Good luck.
You guys did a incredible job on the camper and it's awesome seeing both of you involved and I'm now a fan and can't wait to see other videos.
Thanks Tyson
Awesome job guys 👍
Great job you guys both of you hope you all enjoy it for many years to come I'm 60 years old now and still remember my camping days but back then I was single and had a tent and a horse and a rifle spent two weeks every summer up in the hills right outside of Mount airy North Carolina going towards to Virginia line great memories
sweet reno ! . love the Squirrel
always a good day when i see your videos pop up in my feed!
you guys are the best you guys make a good job with those babies.
Chris, the seam at the front will often crack open again. I used a layer of sealant, followed by a strip of fiberglass drywall tape, followed by another layer of sealant. This lasted for 10 years and then I sold the camper. It is a very cheap way to strengthen those seams. Love the retro interior of the camper.
Awesome. I'm rehabbing a very cool old slide in and I have rehabbed 9 baby grey squirrels. It's a job!
y'all did an excellent job on it man it really looks good take care of that little squirrel because I tell you they're wonderful whenever they're little and whenever they get grown they are great pets have a blessed day have a safe trip and be safe 🙏🙏
Simply no end to both of your talents. Another brilliant video. A pull on the heart strings re the baby squirrels too 😢
I really dig your outlook on refurbish/repressing things. Great video in your catalog!
Previously rode motorcycles, done lots of road-trip miles but not in a camper. May still get one. If so, I will rewatch this one for the great info on what to inspect, etc. Thanks! BTW, you and Jennifer, together in the video, are very enjoyable.
It really turned out nice!
Thanks!
Turned out amazing and beautiful. With hard work and dedication anything is possible and great repurposing of the parts camper. The squirrel is super cute
NoNonsenseKnowHow:
1950s thru early 1980s pickup campers just have that IT Factor the newer ones lack. It's nice to see the repairs and updates to your Clapper compliment the old-school design.
great job. You two work so well together.
